Position Summary:

The luggage warehouse agent position requires the agents to pick up unclaimed baggage from the pier in a safe and speedy manner and transfer them to the warehouse using the company’s van. They are responsible for assisting the passengers in locating lost luggage. Warehouse agents will coordinate the return of lost luggage with external providers. Luggage warehouse agent is also required to resolve but is not limited to all customer related issues for lost and delayed luggage.  Communicate with the Ship, Airline, Hotel, Bus Company and any other transportation company involved in transporting the guest luggage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The luggage agent position requires the agents to pick up lost luggage from the local piers, hotels and airports, transport them to the warehouse and try to reunite them with the guests.
  • Extensive communication with the Ship, Airline, Hotel, Bus Company and any other transportation company involved in transporting the guest luggage is required to resolve the guests issues.
  • Resolve inquiries from shipboard staff, guest/travel partner by phone or e-mail, to determine location of lost or delayed bags, providing appropriate responses and entering relevant data in department's databases.
  • Handle situations which may require adaptation of response, extensive research and advance problem solving based on customers information.
  • Examines pertinent information to determine accuracy of customer complaint and to determine responsibility of errors.  Notifies guests, travel partner and designated personnel of findings.
  • Taking ownership of all customer concerns regarding luggage and ensuring full resolution within departmental timelines.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts including weekends and evenings to meet operational needs.
  • Must have some knowledge of the pier and ship operation of luggage handling.

Job Requirements

Q ualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BA) preferred; or one to two years customer service and warehouse experience.
  • At least one year experience  with the company is a plus
  • MS Word, Windows and Excel knowledge required; 40 wpm required.
  • Must have a valid FL drivers license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must
  • Proficiency in Siebel and AS400
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
