Job Description


This position is responsible for coordinating energy saving retrofit project execution for the fleet in cooperation with the internal & external stakeholders. The objective of this role is to ensure that retrofits are timely executed following the strategic plan for the fleet retrofit program, and to provide objective feedback on program and project status to Fleet Operations and Global Marine Operations management. This position is responsible for managing retrofit projects as required, including defining project scope, planning, execution and savings validation.



  1. Coordinate energy retrofit program execution in cooperation with the internal & external stakeholders across all brands within Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd
  2. Ensure that retrofit projects are timely executed following the strategic plan for the fleet retrofit program
  3. Manage retrofit projects as required, including defining project scope, planning, execution and savings validation
  4. Prepare project descriptions, specifications and business cases prior to CAR submission
  5. Participate project commissioning as required to ensure performance according to design/specification
  6. Conduct energy audits as required to estimate fuel savings potential for retrofits and to support benefit tracking of the capital energy program
  7. Provide accurate and frequent status reports on retrofit program execution



List any responsibilities for budget, expenses and/or achievement of revenue targets in US Dollars.

Responsible for managing individual projects and financials.


Job Requirements


  • Background as Naval Architect or Marine/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer and experience with a shipping company, classification society or similar.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience within marine industry.



  • Good IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side.
  • Experience in project management and facilitating cross function activity
  • Need to possess basic skills for financial planning and analysis
  • Detailed knowledge of vessel operations and technical systems is required



Works in office environment but will be in shipboard environment when traveling to RCL vessels.



Travel up to 20-30% with some overseas and shipboard travel likely.
