SUMMARY:

As a Sr. Mgr. - IT Delivery Transformation, you provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to Delivery Leads, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Managers, Coaches, Executives, and other Agile transformation stakeholders.  You’ll bring to bear your experience advising organizations, leading by example and challenging the status quo to promote an environment and culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation. Your excellent listening, facilitation and conflict-resolution skills will help organizations achieve their targeted business benefits and outcomes. In addition to the above, the leader is responsible for a team of Delivery Leads and Coaches with supporting the execution of the IT Transformation Strategy, and ensuring teams are prepared for all Program Increment (PI) events

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading a team of Agile coaches, delivery leads and partners in defining, designing and implementing Agile practices through the enterprise.
  • Understanding the business and technical implications of transforming to an Agile environment.
  • Building credibility with RCCL’s business and IT leadership by demonstrating thought leadership beyond what is currently available within the current organization and building a path to maturity.
  • Building capabilities to support new agile efforts and competency areas.
  • Building a knowledge base of Agile practices and support the team by answering any questions while working in an Agile ecosystem.
  • Standardizing tools, templates, and processes across the enterprise and tailoring them according to need. Own the intelligent setup, maintenance, advancement and administration of all Agile toolsets
  • Putting in place output measures and reporting on results delivered.
  • Formalizing individual team member's roles and goals that integrate with strategic planning.
  • Coaching and training individual contributors and peer managers on Agile values, principles, methods, and practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to organizations when guiding them through their Lean/Agile transformation, including the use of scaling frameworks and able to help organizations identify their value stream(s). 
  • Work with senior leaders to define strategies and roadmaps for transitioning to Lean/Agile practices.
  • Manage a team of Coaches and Delivery Leads
  • Define supporting structure around communicating progress across all workstreams
  • Support Director, IT Delivery with execution of Enterprise wide Agile Transformation
  • Support the development of training and the administration across enterprise
  • Ensure assigned Scrum and Waterfall teams are prepared for PI planning events
  • Lead the coaching activities across one-to-many functional areas.
  • Lead workshops & training sessions to educate individuals on Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Provide feedback and ideas to leadership on opportunities for improving our organization.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Agile: You are an expert with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and have no less than five years of practical Agile experience, and have actively held certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster®, Certified Scrum Professional®, or SAFe Agilist for five or more years. During this time you have demonstrated strong knowledge and passion for Agile within an organization that leverages the Scaled Agile Framework®.
  • Hands-on experience leading enterprise-wide Agile transformations with expert knowledge of the business implications of an Agile transformation.
  • Familiarity and experience with agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, etc.
  • Educated:  While your field of study may not be directly relevant, the fact that you have a
  • Bachelor's degree (or combination of relevant education and experience) shows your commitment to self-improvement and lifelong learning.
  • A Coach: With more than FIVE years of Agile coaching experience under your belt, you use a varied coaching approach to cultivate the capabilities, skills and knowledge of all Agile team members, team/program stakeholders, and senior leaders, including:
  • Helping Agile teams achieve predictability an high performance when they must align to manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Supporting Product Owners, Product Managers, and Business Stakeholders embrace Agile planning and requirements approaches that are focused on the incremental delivery of value to customers.
  • Advising on the development of initiating and executing Agile transformation.
  • Shaping Agile transformation strategies to achieve Agile at scape within large organizations.
  • Engaging transformation stakeholders such as HR, Finance, and Marketing to embrace new ways of working.
  • A Leader: Your understanding and appreciation of servant leadership means you display behaviors that come with the key mindset shifts associated with being Agile. You demonstrate the ability to:
  • Build a sense of community among all coaches assigned to an engagement.
  • Sense the needs of the team and support them with the tools and resources needed to be effective as well as engaged and confident team members.
  • The ability to communicate, plan and effect change at leadership, portfolio, program and team levels.
  • Proven executive level communication skills - both verbal and written. Must be results oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding expectations with attention to detail and highest quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You are a genius at pragmatic problem-solving, resolving interpersonal conflicts, and overall helping groups of people communicate effectively.
  • Once you have a clear understanding of the objective, your proactive and empowering nature make others want to follow your lead.
  • You know when to step in and lead as needed, but are also comfortable stepping back and letting the team determine the best course of action.
  • Technical acumen and understanding of Agile technical practices and how they operate within an Agile organization (CI, CD, XP, TDD, etc.).
  • High energy and can inspire change at all levels

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of work takes place at RCCL’s Port location with selected assignments in other domestic/international locations and/or shipside. Select assignments may require partial to significant time shipside as well as at other RCCL operating locations domestically and internationally.
