Job Description

Responsible for writing and proofreading consumer and trade copy from conception to completion to the highest creative standards across a variety of media, including print, digital, radio, and video by required deadlines. Consistently writes and revises marketing communications in the company’s brand voice. Provides copy direction and support to all company departments, as needed. Works closely with Project Managers, Account Executives, and Graphic Designers for project completion.

1. Writes and proofs ads, articles, headlines, collateral, direct mail, online copy, special projects, and other related informative and promotional materials in appropriate Celebrity Cruises brand voice for consumer and trade media.
2. Drive brand consistency through ongoing development and implementation of brand guidelines for copy.
3. Ensure timely release of new creative executions from conception to release.
4. Provide copy direction and support to other copywriters, both full-time and freelance, as well as other teams, including Web, Sales, Hotel Operations, Casino, and Public Relations.
5. Review final material and suggest improvements as needed.
6. Partner with Account Executive or Project Manager to liaise with Legal to ensure all copy considers laws governing copy such as registered and trademarked symbols, country of origin, offer communication, etc.
7. Partner with any external agencies to drive asset development and final approval.
8. Timely review of all creative work to be presented to business owner and marketing executives. 


Job Requirements


  • Degree in marketing, advertising, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional writing experience—agency and in-house
  • Success in developing ad campaigns and completing production work
  • Travel and hospitality writing experience
  • Strong background in brand and retail advertising
  • Collaborates well with other creatives (and non-creatives)
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Capable of presenting ideas to executive team
  • Welcomes constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, proofreading, and project coordination skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; clear and concise communication, commitment to producing quality product; deadline conscious Familiarity with print & online media; newspaper experience a plus.
  • Software experience in Mac and Windows applications, including Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, and Powerpoint.
