Position Summary:

The Sr. Analyst, Incident Management & Global Intelligence position is dually responsible for (1) monitoring, compiling, assessing, and reporting on emergent or extant security risks that could impact company operations, and (2) supporting emergency response and emergency preparedness plans for shoreside and shipboard operations globally. This includes ensuring that the incident management team and corporate response teams (Go Teams) in the RCL offices are fully trained. This position is key to establishing organizational situational awareness concerning emergency response and emergent risks in conjunction with the Global Intelligence and Threat Analysis Manager and the Incident Management & Planning Lead.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Incident management

  • Assist with the implementation of Incident Management meetings (SitReps) during an established daily time period in conjunction with the Lead, Situation Management, in addition to being available during off-hours for unforeseen, emergency response.  This includes arranging and managing conference calls with executive leadership activating corporate emergency notification system and summarizing the results of the SitRep process to the Organization.


  • Responsible for monitoring situations and incidents globally – particularly weather related – which have the potential to become SitRep situation and issue alerts to the appropriate levels of management based on that information.


  • Assist with the maintenance of emergency contact lists and emergency contact information in various notification systems.


  • Assist with training volunteer Go Team personnel in responding to emergency situations, and potentially supporting the coordination of deployed emergency response. This may include deployment to help coordinate crisis situations in person.  Travel may also include assisting with Situation Management and GO Team training and process implementation.


  • Assist with the maintenance of corporate response facilities and equipment including communication and audio-visual equipment.

Global Intelligence

  • Actively monitor risk-related information relevant to existing or planned destinations, itineraries and acquisitions, as well as corporate assets.


  • Use analytic tools, methodologies and data systems to research, review, interpret, and assess risk-related information. This includes assisting with the consolidation, evaluation, analysis, and distribution of raw data and information from open sources, third-party provider subscriptions, private industry partners, and government/law enforcement sources to identify trends and patterns and to prepare detailed analyses in a timely fashion. Familiarity with social media analysis and data collection tools a plus.


  • Identify and recommend strategies to mitigate identified risks.


  • Prepare briefs, reports and advanced analytical products—to include risk assessments—for the use of organizational leadership, senior executives and other intelligence consumers in a manner that meets their specified requirements and informs their corporate decisions.


  • Participates in counter-terrorism [CT], Intelligence community (IC), law enforcement or industry working groups, committees, and other collaborative gatherings.


Job Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or directly related experience. Minimum of 5 years of proven analytical experience with major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or private sector maritime organization. Experience in providing expert analysis to executive leaders in support of the organization’s mission.  Maritime license with shipboard experience or equivalent military experience is preferred. Overseas work experience, travel, and professional network development is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in coordinating projects across multiple departments or in big teams is preferred. Knowledge and experience in incident/situation management a plus.


  • Expertise in all-source research; demonstrating resourcefulness, versatility, ingenuity and originality in the collection, synthesis and integration of intelligence from multiple sources in reporting and correspondence. Experience conducting risk assessments preferred.


  • Advanced proficiency in the utilization of personal computers within a Windows environment including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and related printers and equipment.


  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all level of employees and management in a multi-cultural environment.


  • Excellent writing and analytical skills to provide quality work with minimum direction.


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.


  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.


  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, clients, guests and the general public.


  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.


  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • Ability to manage diverse projects concurrently within strict time constraints and work well independently.


  • Basic knowledge of meteorology a plus.


  • Strong grasp of regional affairs and corporate security concerns.
