Job Description


Reporting to the Manager of Production & Studio Operations, the Specialist, Vocalist & Music Casting will provide the casting of high-level talent for all vocal & musician positions across the Celebrity Fleet as well as develop, promote and run year-round audition tours.  This position is responsible for managing the Celebrity Productions Vocal & Music Department shipboard and shore-side from rehearsals to music direction and creating a database of talent for projects. This position is directly related to the ultimate guest experience and onboard ratings and is vital to the overall daily operations of the Entertainment Productions Department. 


  • Develop, staff and run year-round for auditions to cast high-level talent of vocalists and specialty musician positions to meet and exceed the level of entertainment required by Celebrity Cruises Inc. and promotes audition and casting calls in industry leading publications and social media outlets across the globe.
  • Works closely with Specialist, Live Music on casting theatre ensemble musicians & oversees planning/running of rehearsals for musicians.
  • Source, vet, interview, hire and schedule all Vocal Directors, Musical Directors and Music Producers for Celebrity Cruises Entertainment area.  This will include creating a database of creative talent to collaborate with and work on projects for the Entertainment team.
  • Analyzes talent under contract; to ensure highest quality standards are being met at all times including following show reporting systems and guest rating trends to support and improve the entertainment product.
  • Will process offers, contracts, and onboarding cast/musician needs as well as sourcing replacement performers in a timely fashion.
  • Works closely with Manager of Production & Studio Operations and creative teams on show creation, newbuild and entertainment projects.
  • Creates and maintains strong relationships with entertainment agents and casting companies worldwide in regard to casting calls, audition material and contracting talent.
  • Maintains & Oversees the Music Program at the rehearsal studio and oversees the RCCL Recording Studio on premises.
    9. Will works with the Celebrity legal team on contract development/updates.
  •  Assists with events, groups, charters, inaugural, holiday and charity events onboard our vessels, in studio and around the world for Celebrity Cruises Inc.
  • Will oversee and implement the creative design and branding of Celebrity Entertainment website and social media platforms in conjunction with the marketing team.
  • Will assist or drive with show creation on projects & leading project installs, ensuring integrity of project follows management direction, and documents project progress for all aspects of production.
  • Works collaboratively with all entertainment team members on entertainment program development, team projects, initiatives and presentations.
  • Develops, initiates and complies with SQM Policies and safety standards, brand standard & company procedures and directives at all times.
  • Ensures production show recordings, sick/rehearsal tracks, and show back-ups are in place at all times and will coordinate with talent & audio technicians for all show related material recording sessions

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor of Music Degree/Musical Theater Degree or Seven to Ten years of experience in the entertainment industry.
  •  Excellent recruiting, auditioning and casting experience is a must for this position
  • Able to effectively oversee and manage projects
  • Excellent Piano & Sight-Reading skills required.
  • Ability to work proactively, both individually and as a team with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work long hours and weekends.  Working Saturday¿s on a rotation are required.
  • Travel Requirements: Position travels approximately 40% of the time on ships and audition tours. This individual will work a minimum of 60% of time in the Studio & Miami Office.
  • Extensive knowledge in vocal part assignment, vocal performance, acting/coaching, music orchestration & arranging. 
  • Knowledge of Finale/Sibelius computer programs
  • Strategic decision making, problem solving & solution driven skills are a must along with an ability to work and remain focused in time sensitive and pressure situations.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures regarding work ethics, hiring and termination of personnel.
  • Able to conduct presentations and communicate with senior management, groups, employees, clients and to the public.
  •  Ability to work, interact and communicate with internal/external personnel at all levels while building and maintaining successful business relationships.
  • Must be computer/tech/web savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database knowledge a plus
