Job Description

  • Position Summary:

This position supports the Destination Development External Affairs and Communications function to build and manage a strong reputation for Royal Caribbean within key destinations around the world.

The Specialist will be well-versed in core communications skills, work collaboratively in teams and independently, and perform work of a caliber that requires minimal, if any, editing or correction. Versatility, adaptability, flexibility and curiosity are valuable traits. The role will work closely with teams in other areas of corporate communications including brand public relations, corporate reputation, corporate responsibility and employee communications as well as with international teams in the corporate regional offices. 



  • Assist in creation and implementation of public affairs plans for key destinations
  • Manage multiple projects from conceptualization to completion on time and within budget
  • Draft, update and distribute press materials, presentations and other content
  • Create content for social media and digital/web platforms
  • Field and fulfill stakeholder requests and inquiries
  • Work with internal clients to support destination campaigns
  • Co-ordinate executive interviews, press events and ship visits
  • Provide logistics support for special events and major promotions
  • Support outside agencies/consultants to ensure success of programs
  • Support international team members and disseminate content for sharing

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent directly related experience required
  • 2-3 years of PR agency, public relations or marketing communications experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Public relations or government relations experience
  • Strong knowledge of digital/social media
  • Creative with established skills in planning and communications of all aspects.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Has the ability to work both independently and as a member of a highly collaborative team
  • Takes initiative with a focus on solving problems
  • Demonstrates potential to interact with senior level management
  • Can complete challenging projects within set parameters
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Exceptional judgment when working with team members, executive management, business partners and vendors
  • Committed and dedicated to the corporation's success as well as individual career
  • Ability to travel as needed. Limited travel.
