Position Summary:


This position will be the primary data, visualization and automation expert for the OBR team and provide data to support data reporting and visualization projects/analytics reporting across all key areas, utilizing their knowledge of RCL databases, systems and software including but not limited to Data warehouse (CRM), ASR, POS, AS400, Hyperion, Medallia, CrunchTime and the POS warehouse. The successful candidate will be able to quickly and accurately leverage the various RCL data sources to process relevant data as easily consumable datasets that can be leveraged to create tools, reports and processes to enhance guest experience, control costs and drive revenue.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support for all analytics and processes for the OBR team
  • Is the key touch point for all data requirements for the OBR team.
  • Is the data visualization and automation resource for the department using PowerBI and any other tool as required.
  • Liaisons with IT, attends all relevant technical meetings and provides written updates to team.
  • Creates and maintains OBR BI data resource library.
  • Continually optimizes datasets and processes.
  • Reviews and affirms mapping analytics.
  • Helps review and recommend technical options for team.
  • Thinks creatively to identify data solutions to improve OBR performance and data efficiencies.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related fields required.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis and database management.
  • Proven working experience as a data expert. Strong demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage department.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.  Strong knowledge of and minimal 2 years of experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Strong MS Office skills (including MS Excel macros and VBA).
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross functional team in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with a variety of variables in situations where no standardization exists.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with technical systems and supporting the business needs of OBR teams
  • Expert level SQL, SAS and database management skills with demonstrated ability to develop and implements models/solutions/applications especially in forecasting/optimization.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leveraging BI tools (PowerBI, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Strong mathematical skills and analytical thinking with expertise in procedure manuals as well as advanced expertise in applied mathematical/statistics concepts (graphs, probability and statistical inference etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and management at all levels throughout the shipboard and shoreside organizations as required
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of shoreside and shipboard operations
