Job Description

Position Summary:

Support Product Development financial and capital planning and analysis. Primarily responsible for scope development, as well as tracking capital budgeting, spend and forecasting for Private Destination (PD) projects.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with Private Destinations Team to estimate and develop capital budgets for Private Destination projects, including port development projects.
  • Prepare monthly tracking and reporting of capital spend and forecasted spend.
  • Work with brand finance to properly track existing capital requests, update forecasts based on reasonable assumptions and actual performance and initiatives, and track watch list projects and amendments to existing projects.
  • Work with hotel operations, onboard revenue, revenue management, deployment and itinerary planning, and consumer insights (as necessary) to develop business assumptions for Private Destination financial business cases.
  • Responsible for supporting the Manager, Financial Planning, in writing Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) memoranda to formally request approval for Private Destination and Port Development capital projects.
  • Prepare presentations and other supporting information for monthly financial status updates.
  • Track hours worked for Product Development department, with specific emphasis on capital vs. G&A labor for purposes of charging capital labor to the appropriate projects.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to reclassify capitalized labor for the Product Development department.
  • Quickly turn-around ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment.
  • Prepare business presentations for special projects.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent from a 4 year University, MBA or CPA preferred. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years financial analysis experience required.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.  Strong PC skills are required.
  • Energetic, proactive and a leader in driving the process to achieve results

  • Excellent business intelligence and a strategic mind set to generate creative ideas to improve cost performance.
  • Strong benchmarking, trend analysis and analytical skills to identify efficiencies and cost saving opportunities.
  • Excellent computer skills to include advanced excel skills (model development with statistical and financial functions, pivot tables and automation), Microsoft PowerPoint , Access and Visio
  • Knowledge of JDE, Amos and Essbase
  • Excellent database skills in Microsoft Access and Brio
  • Effective communication skills (written & Verbal).
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Ability to share information and work in a standardized environment
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with confidence and composure.
