Position Summary:

The Fixed Asset Senior Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to working closely with CAR Managers and monitoring capital projects to be placed into service, recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.  In addition, the Fixed Asset Senior Accountant shall administer the quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley Certifications, and resolve ad-hoc requests.


  • Communicate periodically with CAR Managers on projects to be placed into service
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset CIP accounts, and close out those CIP accounts once the related projects have been completed.
  • Record and reconcile CAR accruals
  • Place CIP balances into service for completed projects by creating assets in Fixed Assets system and ensuring useful lives are in compliance with company policy
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine dispositions
  • Conduct periodic reviews of CAR activity that is material to ensure proper capitalization
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
  • Provide continuous guidance to CAR Managers and brands
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
  • Reconcile specific general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with projects as assigned to improve processes
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Post journal entries and other month end close duties as assigned


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • Active CPA License
  • 2+ years of Fixed Assets experience
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access preferred
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards software preferred
  • Knowledge of Essbase a plus
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
