Job Description

Our pursuit of continuous improvement and Business Excellence is supported by the Mission Control Team (PMO). Related core services provided by our Business Excellence Team are strategic and operational analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of standards.
Support the Business Excellence Management and Senior Process Engineers in driving continuous improvement, design, operation, standardization and control of processes is the responsibility of the Process Engineer. Support the Business Excellence Team with consulting with internal & external clients in various organizations, corporate departments shore side and shipboard. Function as an in-house process driver of matrixed operating department.
Support defining need or problem, gather and analyze data, and advise recommended course of action. Perform process redesign and organization analysis studies to promote efficient and economical staff and facilities utilization on existing and new generation vessels. Assist Business Excellence Management and Senior Process Engineers with development, implementation and maintenance of Lean methodologies and tools. The Program is aimed to improve business performance across the department portfolio. This role will use advance planning, workflow methods, risk management and quality management to support the program (& project) objectives. Furthermore, provide expertise and best practice implementation with regard to the process improvement discipline.


▪ Assist in driving process development, improvement and standardization across Program and Project Management according to Lean Philosophy
▪ Develop Lean methods and tools for customer requirements and critical process features
▪ Organization, moderation and documentation of internal and external program related workshops to improve processes, manage planning and execution of projects as well as changes in progress
▪ Advise Program and Project Management on alternate methods of solving need or problem and recommend specific solution
▪ Apply analytical techniques to drive process improvements, generally quality improvement, cost reduction or revenue increase and enhance delivery services
▪ Determine root causes of defects in performance through data analysis, decomposition and process observation
▪ Utilize principles of industrial engineering to evaluate work method proposals and to develop recommendations to management
▪ Assist in implementing a feedback culture, support the associated actions and incorporate feedback into future plans
▪ Monitor strategic and operational Key Performance Indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
▪ Support knowledge sharing as well as identify process benchmarks within and outside the maritime industry
▪ Collaborate with counterparts in other business areas

Job Requirements


▪ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management or equivalent field
▪ Minimum 1-3 years of related work experience
▪ Profound understanding of Lean Management
▪ Basic project and risk management experience

▪ Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management
▪ Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities


▪ Solid written and verbal English communication skills are a must
▪ Clear and precise communication at all levels of an organization essential
▪ Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side, audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
▪ Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents and government regulations
▪ Further language skills are a plus
