Position Summary:

Related core services provided by our Business Excellence Team are strategic and operational analysis as well as improvement of business processes related to Program and Project Management within Royal Caribbean’s Newbuilding and Fleet Modernization department.

Support the Business Excellence team in innovating our ways of doing business and driving continuous improvement. Be an operational change agent while consulting with internal & external stakeholders.

Royal Caribbean’s Newbuilding & Fleet Modernization department is comprised by different functions throughout the project life cycle including development, design, contracting and execution for managing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. The Business Excellence team is acting as a service function reporting separately to the department leadership. The goal is to improve business performance across the department portfolio and to be the driver on the department’s pursuit of Business Excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ideate, deploy and evaluate improvement initiatives to drive business goals, efficiency, and strategies
  • Advise Program and Project Management on alternate methods of solving need or problem and recommend specific solutions
  • Interface with senior leadership and executives by providing process-related analytics and advice
  • Monitor strategic and operational Key Performance Indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Apply analytical techniques on current business processes to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities, generally quality improvement, cost reduction or revenue increase and enhance delivery services
  • Organization, moderation and documentation of internal and external program related workshops
  • Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of our business processes across the Program and Project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other business areas to pilot initiatives, drive project progress and assist train-the-trainer efforts
  • Assist in driving process standardization across Program and Project Management
  • Collaborate with team members to pioneer and drive a culture of learning and development cross-functionally
  • Support knowledge sharing as well as identify process benchmarks within and outside the cruise and building industry

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Basic project management experience

  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills are a must
  • Clear and precise communication at all levels of an organization essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side, audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents and government regulations
  • Further language skills are a plus
