Manager, Market Analysis

Position Summary

The manager of Market Analysis manages a small team that provides a Strategic guidance to allow business growth, competitive analysis, and strategic direction to the international markets.  Works with stakeholders in Miami and across 15 markets to develop and track the international strategy.  Key responsibilities include, sizing of new and existing markets, market prioritization, analysis of distribution models, development of market entry strategies, alignment of market potential, consumer insights and competitive research with deployment, commercial/port development, product, and overall brand strategy, formulation of annual operating plans.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand market size to identify addressable market, total revenue opportunity and available market for the business to compete. Prioritize markets and develop strategies to tackle them.
  • Develop long range forecasts for sales and services (including exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights to aid in developing new forecasting models and improve existing models). Validate key assumptions and modeling approach market research (analyzing market trends, competition, market segmentation) in support of long-range strategy.
  • Gather, analyze and distribute intelligence on products, market conditions, competitors and customers for business decision-making. Lead competitive reviews. Develop innovative solutions from complex problems, provide actionable recommendations, deliver presentations.
  • Work with Deployment to develop the optimal global deployment mix for International markets. Leverage competitive deployment insights and historical trading and revenue performance to model deployment and itinerary scenarios. Identify opportunities for International deployment that will drive higher net itinerary yields.
  • Leverage consumer insights and market research and collaborate with Commercial and Product Development to ensure projects are aligned with market potential, capabilities and needs, while also contributing to the strategic direction of the brand.
  • Lead or take part in bespoke projects and analyses to support the strategic growth of the company.
  • Develop annual operating plans for the markets.
  • Prepare Board papers associated with the International Strategy.
  • Understand executive needs and preferences in each functional/content area to ensure presentations and analyses reflect audience needs and preferences.
  • Team Management & Cross-Functional Leadership: Take responsibility for management, growth and leadership of Lead and Senior Analyst, Market Analysis. Act as a liaison between Miami leadership, Deployment, Commercial Development, and Product Development and in-market Sales organizations to ensure cross-functional application of relevant information and content.
  • Assist all areas of the business as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • 6 -8 years in an analytical, economics, commercial, financial role as well as proven analysis experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited 4-year university/ Masters preferred
  • Cruise or hospitality experience highly preferred

 Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to work under tight project deadlines and successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at once
  • In-depth knowledge of economics and finance, as well as strong mathematical skills
  • Skilled at extracting and analyzing large amounts of data (Hyperion, Essbase, Excel)
  • Ability to isolate issues relating to risk, productivity, and other business operations, and to identify and propose solutions
  • Analytical skills to process business data and create detailed financial plans based on findings
  • Strategic mindset, ability to perform market and competitive analysis and to make recommendations
  • Effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams
  • Fluency in English, proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Passion for brands
  • Availability to travel 5% of the time
