Based in Miami, FL or Raleigh, NC and reporting to the Director of Digital Analytics, the Manager of Digital Optimization will provide leadership over a digital team of 2-3 employees. This newly created role will influence strategic decisions for digital analytics implementation and is directly responsible for the build out and execution of A/B & multivariate testing strategies for the RCG Digital department. You will drive decision-making through customer insights, quantitative analysis and A/B testing utilizing Adobe Experience Cloud and other analytics tools. You will own the testing strategy, roadmap, and the execution of key growth initiatives while serving as a subject matter expert on the design, structure & sequencing of tests; as well as the definition of success metrics and test duration calculations. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, developers and brand marketing teams to nominate, prioritize, schedule and deploy tests. Deep, hands-on knowledge of A/B testing, digital marketing, and digital analytics, with a strong focus on agile project management, are needed to be successful.

The successful candidate is proactive and possesses a driving nature to provide significant commercial value to the organization's digital commerce functions. They are detail-oriented and value documentation to share learnings. They are not satisfied with just completing a test, but instead need to understand the ‘why’ behind the results and can develop insights to inform future strategy. S/he will be expected to perform hands-on work while managing complex analytics projects from inception through delivery. This position will have direct access to the senior digital leadership team and will have a significant positive influence on the revenue growth of current and future digital products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Owns the build out of an A/B Testing practice for the RCG Digital department. This role helps define the growth & optimization strategy and will own the roadmap for A/B testing that supports a new web commerce platform. The role is hands-on, including all aspects of the experiment design, analysis of test results, and targeting decisions for digital content and experiences.
  2. Leads a small team of 2-3 individuals supporting digital analytics in a multi-brand, multi-channel, enterprise environment. Responsible for the overall implementation of analytics across new features developed for web and mobile app. Helps create the global strategy for how the organization analyzes digital customers across all brands.
  3. This individual will create, maintain and help prioritize a backlog of test campaigns. S/he will balance test risk with potential impact to ensure resources are properly focused on the right revenue driving and/or customer experience initiatives.
  4. Manages multiple, concurrent projects with successful results and within reasonable timeframes. Communicates project direction, approach, priorities, events and status to all project resources and business sponsors. Ensures project deliverables are on time and on budget, while meeting customer satisfaction expectations.
  5. Provides strategic guidance for advanced analytics, measurement and implementation. Performs advanced analysis of data from multiple systems to uncover actionable intelligence that provides value to the business. The manager will be responsible for identifying ways to use data and analytics to guide product development strategy.
  6. S/he will evaluate new marketing technologies and provide thought leadership in the selection, deployment and use of analytical tools necessary to drive data collection, site optimization and business insight across the digital organization. S/he will lead our digital analytics team in the design, maintenance and support of our digital platforms, including the integration of data into the Adobe Analytics platform and related tools.
  7. Makes recommendations and influences business decisions through analytics and by identifying actionable, data-driven insights. Deepens the understanding of consumers’ attitudes, behaviors and values. Builds strong tracking and reporting analysis. Communicates results to cross-functional groups as well as department executives.

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Decision Science, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Business or other quantitative focus preferred
  • 2-3 years of management over digital analytics teams
  • 3-5 years of experience in an A/B & multivariate testing, optimization and/or personalization program
  • 5 + years in digital analytics roles, with ecommerce experience required and travel industry exposure highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe systems and their architecture, including experience with Adobe Analytics (Omniture / SiteCatalyst), Adobe Target and Adobe Audience Manager
  • Expert understanding of A/B & multivariate best practices and testing techniques
  • Strong organizational & project management skills to manage milestones, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Extensive knowledge of the best practices for web and mobile analytics implementation
  • JIRA/Confluence or similar agile collaboration tools
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret performance data from multiple sources
  • Evaluation of new technologies projects to assess business value
  • Sound leadership skills to coach, mentor and motivate teams
  • Ability to turn meaningful research into actionable insights across the customer lifecycle by integrating research insights with demographics, psychographics and behavioral data.
  • Proficiency in productivity tools such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint/Keynote, Tableau, etc. with proven ability to manipulate large data sets
  • Hands on experience with Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target as platforms in an e-commerce environment; mobile implementation expertise preferred
  • Extensive, hands-on knowledge of the statistical methods used in the planning and evaluation of A/B & multivariate testing. Ability to articulate the steps in designing an experiment and how a test might change to address one goal vs another
  • Prior experience in selecting, implementing and operating the right tools for website testing and analytics; such as, A/B Testing platforms like Adobe Target, Monetate and Optimizely; heat mapping tools like CrazyEgg and mouseflow, etc.
  • Prior experience integrating with other platforms like Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager and Adobe Experience Manager
  • Prior experience managing large projects from inception to completion, including ongoing support
  • Can demonstrated excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communications skills, with strong experience in communicating with senior managers and executives
  • Ability to tackle very loosely defined problems, creating clarity, building trust and guiding stakeholders through process
