POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Concept Development- Food & Beverage will lead all Food & Beverage concept development efforts for Royal Caribbean International. This role will develop concepts that directly respond to consumer insights, understand the white space to innovate and define what¿s next in terms of the vacation experience while driving incremental profitability for the brand. Leading cross functional collaboration across the organization to establish an effective concept development process. This person is responsible for developing concepts that meets the long-term marketability and profitability goals for the brand.

Based in Miami, FL and reporting to the Senior Manager, Concept Development, the Manager requires the ability to direct teams that ideate Food & Beverage concepts for our guests, by both fostering and demonstrating a culture of data-driven and vacation experience focused product thinking and innovation.

 

  • Create from the ground-up, enhance and evolve the Concept Development- Food & Beverage team by defining required skills and responsibilities needed to concept the future Food & Beverage experience.
  • Build and develop the critical thinking and concept development skills of team members.
  • Within the Concept Development- Food & Beverage team, guide strategic thinking, analyze data and translate information into design experience guidelines for new consumer desired concepts while continually enhancing our current products/ programs.
  • Develop the vision for the brand¿s Food & Beverage concepts by using Consumer Insights to bring forward the voice of the consumer and drive innovation by developing experiences that directly respond to consumer desires/needs.
  • Assist the Insights & Analytics team with the creation of the questions that need to be answered to guide concept development that will drive incremental profitability for the brand long term and improve the overall Onboard Revenue experience. Subsequently analyze this data to influence and develop the product.
  • Identify clear short and long-term Food & Beverage concept development roadmap.
  • Provide leadership over the strategic direction for Conceptual Development of Food & Beverage areas. Partner and collaborate closely with key stakeholders from the Food & Beverage team to understand how to adapt and evolve the strategy.
  • Lead concept development for Food & Beverage areas while working closely with Product Development and Newbuild to guarantee product specifications created deliver on the experience outlined in the design experience guidelines.
  • Foster a highly collaborative cross functional team, where cross-discipline dynamic communication is paramount to success. Partner with OPS and Product Development, to socialize design guidelines with architects and OPS.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor¿s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 8-10 years business, product/brand marketing or operations experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in the travel/cruise industry/ Food & Beverage
  • Past Management Experience
  • Ability to analyze data and research results to make recommendations
  • Ability to apply strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in managing internal and/or cross functional teams
    Ability to assemble, lead and influence cross functional teams to develop strategies that include input and buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Proven ability to collaborate with others, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Experience developing strategic framework and design experience concepts
  • Ability to grasp the complexities of the business to effectively translate that into a strategy
    Willingness to take personal initiative
  • Deep knowledge and extensive track record in leading teams in the development of vacation experience concepts
  • Strong business acumen
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at the senior most executive levels of a company
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
    Strong key computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
