Job Description


This position is responsible for the daily operation of the new Port Miami campus building and associated maintenance and repairs and building operations. This position will Manage and oversee design and implementation of building automation and management systems for new Port Miami campus sites totaling approximately 750,000 square feet. Manage Capital Improvement Projects related to space and design at the Port of Miami. Project Manage and develop maintenance and repair plans for the following: 

  • New 375,000 SF Office Tower, Multi-story Amenities building,
  • 1400 Stall Parking Garage
  • 1050 Renovation
  • 1080 Renovation & Campus quad and Grounds



  • Develop master plan to manage the buildings and grounds, and the day to day maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC systems, Lighting, Life Safety Systems, plumbing, repairs to workstations/carpet/walls, Landscaping, janitorial, etc.
  • Analyze and collaborate with design teams building automation and management systems.
  • Establishes work plan for each phase of project, and coordinates assignment for project vendors and participating staff.
  • Provide support to project management team during multi-phase construction project.
  • Receive, review and approve quotes for repairs and maintenance, as well as approval of invoices for those services.
  • Develop and manage service providers for out-sourced services.
  • Work with all vendors to ensure invoices are paid, point of contact to clear unpaid balances.
  • Manage budgets and CAR Manager for Space Projects
  • Oversees all new construction from beginning to end.
  • Oversees all remodeling or repairs to all facilities

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Six or more years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASHRAE Certification or trade license preferred
  • Proficient in Computer Aided Design tools and Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to work with a variety of business leaders and manage their expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate with participating staff to ensure a positive end result to all projects.
  • Must be a quick thinker; able to examine a problem situation and come up with solutions in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills with customers, management, office personnel, and fellow employees. Must be able to take direction from management.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems; deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
