Job Description


Reporting to the Director, Entertainment Experience for Celebrity Cruises, the Manager, Activities, Youth & Enrichment is responsible to support, advance and execute the strategic vision and direction for the onboard entertainment experience while managing fleet operations both shoreside and shipboard. The Manager, Activities, Youth & Enrichment provides direction, guidance and development for shoreside and shipboard teams and ensures performance standards are met by departmental employees and exceptional guest experience is delivered in alignment with our brand. Under guidance of the Director, Entertainment Experience, assists in the creation, development process and execution of new entertainment experiences and programs, including, but not limited to guest activities, youth program and enrichment programming. Ensures highest level of onboard entertainment staff is sourced and developed to ensure our guests receive an elevated, luxury experience.  Assists in forecasting and manages operating budgets.



    • Develops and manages fleetwide entertainment experiences and activities including potential partnerships that keep our brand on the leading edge of the industry while driving guest satisfaction.
    • Develops and manages fleetwide youth program, ensuring focus on enhancing our junior cruiser¿s experience while providing a safe and secure environment.
    • Manages enrichment program, working cross-functionally to ensure speakers offer an exceptional experience targeting luxury guests.
    • Vets, sources and manages shipboard activities and youth program staff, with focus on development and succession planning.
    • Ensures day-to-day shipboard operations for activities, youth and enrichment programs are supported and set up for success.
    • Manages travel needs and budget for entertainment experiences staff and enrichment program.
    • Manages planning and production process for departmental projects, collaborating with internal departments and external vendors.
    • Assists in forecasting and management of capital and operating budgets. Supports creation of capital request submissions.
    • Researches, vets and supports RFP process for industry-leading partners and vendors to create new and innovative entertainment experiences for Celebrity Cruises. Must have understanding of ¿what¿s new¿ in entertainment industry to help create elevated programming that aligns with our brand.
    • Collaborates with Legal and Finance teams to develop most cost-effective and favorable contracts for production, partnerships and vendors, ensuring any licensing requirements are met.
    • Supports the safe and efficient installation of new onboard entertainment experiences, managing teams during creation and installation process to ensure projects are executed in compliance with policies, safety and brand standards.
    • Supports creation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring safety standards are met and policies are appropriately recorded.
    • Creates presentations that visualize current or proposed future programming for presentation to senior leadership.
    • Works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, PR, Hotel Operations and other departments to assist in development and execution of entertainment experiences and to support campaigns and sales initiatives across the organization.
    • Works with analytics team to monitor guest feedback and customer demographics to ensure successful programming and continuous improvement in ratings through action plan follow up.
    • Reviews and audits onboard entertainment experiences and programs, offering guidance to ensure an elevated guest experience is offered and brand standards are being met.
    • Collaborates with Marketing and PR to create correct messaging and stories enabling a greater global reach and positive message.
    • Works with team to ensure Celebrity Cruises and Entertainment websites accurately reflect onboard entertainment experience and to attract top talent for onboard positions within the department, ensuring highest level of talent is sourced.

Job Requirements


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment, Arts Administration or a minimum of five (5) year¿s comparable work experience in the entertainment or cruise industry with an emphasis in developing and managing daily operations for entertainment programs
    • Strong knowledge of entertainment programming development process including, but not limited to, timeline creation and management, production and operating budget forecasting and management, negotiating, vendor/partner procurement and management, approval process management and rollout scheduling
    • Proactive, forward-thinker who acts with a sense of urgency and is on the pulse of trends within entertainment experiences, youth programming, enrichment programming and the cruise industry
    • Strong budget forecasting, tracking and management skills
    • Strong business communication skills both verbally and in writing; ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, analytics reports and legal documents
    • Ability to write, and create comprehensive reports, presentations, RFPs, business correspondence and department policies and procedures
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executive management, groups of managers, employees, staff and customers; Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office software
    • Ability to build and maintain successful business relationships throughout the department, the company as a whole and with external vendors
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities
    • Previous hotel, resort, casino, theme park and/or cruise ship experience, a plus
    • May be required to travel internationally approximately 30% of work-related time; This individual will work approximately 70% of the work time at the shoreside office
