Job Description

Reporting into the Product Development Strategy & Analytics Department, as a Project Management Lead. This position reports directly to the Program Manager in Strategy & Analytics. Moreover, the role supports and is matrixed into the Product Development - Ship Building Program. Supports the Program Manager by providing scheduling expertise, technical support, project coordination, and project management for the Ship Building Program. The incumbent’s primary focus of duties includes:


  • Building and managing the ship building program project plan.
  • Assist with devising ideas and work planning to accomplish project related objectives and tasks related to the master project plan.
  • Identifying and building work breakdown structures for project deliverables.
  • Preparation of workshops, agendas, and presentations for the ship building program.
  • Prepare project schedules and track to project milestones.
  • Lead with collaborating across multiple project stakeholders ensuring the project plan stays updated for the project team.
  • Communicate with cross-functional project stakeholders and project team members with driving ship building milestones and deliverables.
  • Assist in management tracking and upholding of processes and timelines for all ship building projects and tasks. 
  • Support Product Development with any adhoc consultative assignments by researching and providing input for solutions related to project task creation and completion. 
  • Monitor and forecast project plans and deliverables. Ensure projects stay on time, within budget, and within scope. 
  • Research new project tasks when required and assist with building out the necessary steps for completion.
  • Use processes, technical abilities, and project skills to assist team members.  Encourage and advise team members in order to achieve outstanding project results.
  • Work with Product Development Design teams to ensure project timelines are defined based on required project deliverables, along with ensuring project deadlines are met by evaluating analyzing and reviewing on a recurring basis.
  • Analyze the management of document tracking methods in order to improve workflow and simplifying reporting procedures.
  • Scheduling of weekly and monthly project meetings, sponsor review meetings, and executive meetings.
  • Review and anticipate any upcoming project risks.  Devise contingency plans as needed to keep project on schedule.
  • Will be required to use project specific software for project development, management, and tracking.
  • Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Visio.

Stay current on relevant project tools and techniques. Seeks information and new technology to improve processes and tracking of milestones.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Marketing or equivalent field of study related to the above job requirements.
  • PMP preferred, but not required.  Ability to attain PMP within one year.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience project management experience required.

  • Ability to work under tight schedule timelines and endure challenging ambiguous scenarios, along with being able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, organized, and multi-faceted. Need to have the ability to take initiative when needed, in order to accomplish project objectives and results.
  • Knowledge of project tools such as Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively, along with having presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and write fluent English is required. Ability to speak other languages a plus.
