Job Description

Leads and oversees projects within the departments administrative, strategic project portfolio. Participates in preparing internal communication about projects being worked upon. Represents the department in meetings related to tasks on projects related to his assignments. Supports the Project Manager as needed in administrative duties including research and analysis. Role is best suited for self-directed, resourceful and highly organized individual.


  • Under the direction of the Port Operations Manager (PMO) leads and accomplishes the tasks of projects assigned. 
  • Collaborates with the PMO Manager to track, and report on KPIs on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis related to particular projects.
  • Collaborates to the department’s SOP development, process and system management, including the integration of company policies and procedures for document production and retentions. Includes mapping processes and documenting them; collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Makes recommendations to meet or exceed project targets in terms of delivery dates, budget or effectiveness of its results.
  • Conducts research, analysis and whitepapers as it related to the development of projects that have been assigned to the position.
  • Utilizes project management tools and techniques to develop and maintain project scope.
  • Administrates team meetings (attendees, agenda, and official minutes) and drafts
  • Identifies and enact process improvement, process automation, and creation of department knowledge base to improve operational efficiencies and controls.

Job Requirements


  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in or project management (preferably maritime), operations management or business intelligence setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University; Master’s preferred, and/or five years related experience in operations, project management, or process improvement.
  • Direct experience leading projects of varying degrees of size and function.


  • Strong written skills required. 
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with all levels of employees, management, vendors, and government authorities.
  • Ability to communicate, support, and work with a very diverse cross-cultural team (internal and external).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data, analyze trends and make predictions.
  • Ability to author white papers, reports, executive communication and create presentations
  • Change management skills desired.
  • Advanced use of MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Visio and Project.

Database management experience a plus.
