Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading Royal Caribbean’s brand communications to its own employees — building out a program to connect shipboard crew members, land based employees, sales and call center employees to the latest brand news, from product launches to employee profiles to behind-the-scenes stories and more. This position will work closely with the Director to build the program, define its mission and goals, identify and create tools to communicate with the different key audiences, and re-think storytelling internally.

      1. Determine content, tactics and channel strategies to best engage our key employee audiences (land based, onboard, call center, sales teams) so they are informed of the latest brand news, feel engaged with their brand peers, and have stronger affinity for the brand overall


      1. Coordinate across the most “newsworthy” brand and corporate teams to unearth stories and content series that would interest Royal Caribbean employees


      1. Plan editorial content calendar in advance and coordinate coverage with other brand and corporate communication teams if necessary; ensure both high quality and steady quantity of communications


      1. Grow expertise and understanding of existing channels for employee communications; evolve these channels and devise new methods and platforms to better engage key employee audiences


      1. Work with internal creative teams to brief and direct the creation of new content, while also being hands on and able to write your own content where needed


      1. Plug into brand and corporate communications teams to understand upcoming content that could be leveraged; deepen the angle of consumer-facing content to bring more meaningful, educational, behind-the-scenes content to our own employees


      1. Develop campus and onboard events, activations, installations, and collateral where necessary to accompany digital campaign communications


      1. Evolve the Miami headquarter All Hands meeting by understanding its core objectives and content, and adapting it to format(s) that work onboard or at remote office locations


      1. Plan executive visits to ships, international offices and call centers to do town halls that better inform and empower local teams


      1. Develop the identity/branding for “Royal Caribbean News” and ensure employees are aware of the intent behind these communications


Job Requirements


    • 8+ years of relevant internal/employee or traditional public relations experience; agency or in-house or both

    • Experience working with executives on top level communications a plus  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or English preferred

    • Strong writer, communicator, storyteller with a creative mind.

    • A reporter at heart, with the ability to seek out stories.

    • Understands the latest tools for communicating internally with employees.

    • Accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Experience and in-depth knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including ability to adapt to brand tone online

    • Ability to collaborate across teams and streamline communications
