Job Description


The Junior Associate Counsel will be a member of the Development and Operations legal group.  The internal clients include Newbuild, Marine Operations, Risk Management, Supply Chain, Hotel Operations, Global Tour Operations, and Travel Services.  The Junior Associate Counsel will interface with accounting, finance, treasury, tax and audit, as well as with the executive management and the business development teams.  The Junior Associate Counsel will review, negotiate, and prepare a variety of contracts, and provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of topics.


  •  Provide legal support to newbuild, marine operations, risk management, supply chain, hotel operations, global tour operations, and travel services departments.
  • Structure, negotiate and draft agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, consulting agreements, technical procurement and fuel supply contracts, research and development engagements, concessionaire agreements, tour operator agreements, hotel agreements, and related commercial agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to a number of internal departments and assist with the administration of contracts in accordance with the Company policies and legal requirements.
  • Research, review, and interpret the requirements of government agencies, laws, statutes, rules, regulations, and court decisions.
  • Identify and evaluate risks and propose solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Advise and provide legal support on passenger vessel liquor licensure.
  • Support the management of the internal corporate records management system.
  • Analyze potential business engagements, with a focus on commercial contracts.
  • Engage in direct communications with internal business clients.
  • Support legal projects and related assignments.

Job Requirements


  • Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school, with strong academic credentials.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in the practice of law, with a focus on drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.  Recent law school graduates may be considered for the position.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state; Florida preferred.
  • Studies/training in commercial, corporate, admiralty, and/or maritime law.


  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to make decisions and assess acceptable levels of business risk.
  • Excellent drafting ability; must draft contracts, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. 
  • Must work with a sense of professional pride, possess a strong work ethic, be proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible, and have business and personal integrity.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, including the ability to simplify technical and legal jargon; effective public speaking ability.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, responsive, and dependable.
  • Ability to handle multiple urgent and important matters while maintaining professional but cordial relations with internal clients.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DocuSign, and online research tools.
