Position Summary:

The Financial Systems Analyst will provide day-to-day system user support, system administration for reporting systems, as well as security maintenance, and configuration of reporting applications. This individual will maintain standard reporting and will be responsible for basic report development and will assist with any changes or updates to ESSBASE. Additionally, this individual will also support with the maintenance of data systems used by Corporate Planning and initiatives related to dashboards and visualizations.

The analyst may also do ad-hoc business analysis, variance analysis, financial reconciliation, and other financial analysis. Ideal candidate will have a blend of talents and skills to balance the technical ability necessary to support the Corporate Planning systems with the financial aptitude needed to understand business needs and perform ad-hoc financial analysis.

Duties may include project support - from small ad-hoc projects to large CAPEX initiatives; Project responsibilities could include communication across departments to understand business objectives and analysis of data and source systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • System Maintenance Duties - may include creating Calculation Scripts (write/maintain/enhance), Load Rules, Report Scripts, MaxL and MDX scripting.
  • Facilitate monthly close process in Essbase, as well as monthly budget forecasting.
  • Coordinate and communicate ESSBASE process times to the company
  • Data validation to confirm system outputs are correct (data integrity)
  • Create and maintain security filters; Security testing and validation.
  • End user support for the Essbase system
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed
  • Update and improve upon global fleet model
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations for Corporate planning


Job Requirements


  • 1-2 years working with Finance / Accounting or related field, with experience doing insightful P&L and Balance Sheet analysis as well as ad-hoc business analytics
  • 1-2 years of Database and/or programming experience or training.
  • Experience with SQL, MaxL and MDX is helpful.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other visualization software is a plus
  • Experience with a Essbase and/or other OLAP system a big plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related area, or equivalent (through a combination of education and work experience).
  • Strong analytic/problem-solving skills are very important. Ability to understand Finance and Accounting concepts. Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Strong team-working skills and creativity are also important. Ability to work under limited supervision. Self-motivated person with good time management skills. Ability to learn new skill sets as needed.
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and pivot tables.
  • ESSBASE Administration Services (EAS) and Excel add-in maintenance and use a plus.
  • Experience consolidating, organizing and analyzing data sets
  • Visualization software skills (PowerBI, Tableau, etc) are a big plus
  • SQL skills are a plus, but not essential.
