Job Description

Analyst for F&B Waste will be responsible for supporting all analysis as it relates for food and beverage waste for the fleet; finding ways to prevent waste from reoccurring; including development periodic waste reduction targets. This position will schedule visits to ships to observe operation and look for ways to reduce food and beverage waste and collaborate, aligned with food and beverage management expectations. Position will be setting KPI¿s for each project and work closely with the Manager F&B Waste to determine the final decisions on phasing from test project to roll-out and implementation and developing corrective actions and guidelines.  Analyst F&B Waste will also maintain POS system F&B content accuracy for the fleet; analyzing factors to update system consistently. This position will support the different platforms and technologies acquired by the business towards cost saving and waste prevention. 


 Supports Manager Food & Beverage Waste to reduce food and beverage waste fleetwide, developing prevention plans.

 Maintains accuracy of content of fleetwide POS system.

 Responsible for ad hoc analysis for projects impacting food and beverage cost and waste.

 Ad hoc analysis supporting new ideas, food and beverage initiatives, fleet revitalization, amplification and newbuild.

 Summarizes results and trends through presentations, databases, graphs and schedules as needed.

 Participates and support development and maintain of new software related to the position.

Monitors F&B food and beverage waste and department KPIs to identify trends and recommend improvements.

 Supports CalcMenu, Par/Pull/Thaw and Food Artificial Intelligence projects as required.

 Performs other duties as required.

 Responsible for modeling and monitoring waste, analyzing and reporting variances in a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

 Updates periodic Shipboard KPI reports and formulate improvement strategies.

Job Requirements


 Bachelors degree (BA) of four-year college or university; or equivalent work experience is required
 MBA or advanced business degree preferred
 1-3 years related experience in financial / business analysis or related field with other cruise lines
 Excellent analytical and qualitative skills
 Cruise or Travel Industry experience strongly preferred

 Advance Microsoft ® Excel, proficient in Word®, PowerPoint® and Outlook®, knowledge of database handling and Microsoft Power BI® is required.

 Knowledge of Microsoft Access®, Project Manager®, Visio® is preferred. 

 Knowledge of Hyperion Interactive Reporting Studio ® is required, Crunch Time! ® and JD Edwards Enterprise One ® is preferred.

 Advanced analytical skills should include mathematical modeling; data management, statistical analysis and broad exposure to operations research.

 Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation and listening skills, including the ability to adjust and effectively interact with external customers, internal staff, food and beverage corporate and ships leadership; and executive management.

 Bold thinker with ability to generate creative and actionable recommendations to reduce costs and improve operational performance, efficiency and excellence and strong analytical and reporting skills.

 Ability to solve complex problems with a variety of components in situations where no standardization exists.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.


This position works within the F&B division in the Hotel Operations department and sits within the workspace of this area. Analyst F&B Waste will work regular business hours within the division area.

Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned

Able to travel up to 15-30% of the time
