Job Description


  • Manage the Account Managers who develop the tour programs worldwide for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara Club Cruises. 
  • Provides vision, and goals for what the tour program framework should be in creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Transcend the brands marketing message through the intended sourcing for the destinations visited.  
  • Collaborates with brand¿s sales and marketing teams to develop tour program that are consistent with the brand voice and matches the brands target demographics. 
  • Develops packaged Cruisetour experiences for our guests.
  • Communicates directly with key operators and the various international offices to ensure the Shore Excursion product meets our guest expectations and our revenue goals.
  • Oversees the bidding process for over 1,000 potential vendors (department currently has approx. 500 vendors). 
  • This includes enhancements to the RFP process to improve efficiencies and documentation.
  • Liaison with Deployment in the development of itineraries to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Partner with Cruise Revenue to find strategic opportunities to increase revenue through promotions and bundled tour products.
  • Collaborate with Onboard Revenue in setting strategic vision for shoreside department and shipboard operation as it pertains to driving revenue, improving guest satisfaction and delivering the guest port experience.
  • Collaborate with Global Offices and internal Sales and Marketing teams to identify tour distribution opportunities globally. 
  • Represents the corporation at selected governmental meetings, association functions, cruise industry events, travel industry conventions, and other meetings as required.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with an international cruise line or worldwide tour operator (preferably in shore excursion/tour department)
    Shipboard experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of destinations and tour operations
  • Strategic vision

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with guests, international vendors and all levels of employees and management, both shipboard and shoreside.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
  • Excellent leadership capabilities and ability to develop and manage a team of professionals
