Position Summary:
Oversees strategic initiatives, regional development, and Ecuador financial management & controllership. Responsible for financial performance of Celebrity Vacations and Ecuador Operations, ensuring the business meets commitments on planned Expenses, Capital and G&A spend. Prepares the Celebrity Vacations Operating & Capital Plan, Forecasts and Analysis. Must be able to ensure outstanding compliance with all company policies and communicate and monitor compliance of others as appropriate. Works closely with RCL Corporate teams to manage the Ecuador operation Tax, Compliance, Risk and Accounting requirements and strategy. Drives comprehensive positioning, strategy and planning documents including white papers and presentations to drive efficiencies, product development, brand innovations, and strategic plans for Celebrity Vacations initiatives. The candidate will also lead an effort to identify synergies & efficiencies between the various RCL owned companies operating in the region. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding analytical abilities, experience with detailed financial analysis, modeling experience, and broad business acumen. Strong statistical and writing skills are desired.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees monthly accounting activities, including analysis of results vs. plan and forecast.
  • Ensures proper analysis and review of monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting.
  • Manage departmental administrative duties such as merit and bonus administration, employee incentive program administration, etc.
  • Provide leadership to optimize the financial performance and strategic position for Celebrity Vacations department. Ensure the organization stays on track to meet its annual plans.
  • Develop the analysis and communication for Celebrity Vacations & Ecuador operating expenses and G&A for annual and monthly forecasts that support organizational goals and objectives. 
  • Work with the Hotel, Marine, and Revenue Accounting Operations team to produce accurate forecasts, analyze actual performance and determine a plan of action for variances. 
  • Ensures that financial results are correct, and compliant with GAAP and overall corporate policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Proactively identify and analyze areas of potential improvement. Make recommendations to executives on analyses that will create efficiencies, reduce costs, or improve profitability.
  • Drives initiatives to enhance company performance, functioning as an internal consultant and facilitator. 
  • Oversees Celebrity Vacations Strategic Plan, working with company leaders and stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Gathers and conducts comprehensive analyses of complex data involving competitive information and market analysis to create ideas and actionable recommendations.
  • Uses financial analysis and other quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess a broad array of business issues and distills them into key items and proposed actions. 
  • Drives the financial and strategic analysis of potential mergers, acquisitions, sales and joint ventures.
  • Analyze and implement with business and operational partners multi-faceted programs and initiatives. This also includes the negotiation of contracts and amendments. 
  • Liaise with the tax, accounting and corporate planning groups to ensure all initiatives and updates are addressed and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Drives process improvements within the finance function by building and driving effective and comprehensive process for developing product costing, pricing and profitability.
  • Leads team that provides package financial analysis, G&A analysis and costing & pricing models for all Celebrity Vacations business including the Celebrity Galapagos packaging operation.
  • Build and maintain accurate business forecasting models using a variety of data assumptions to support growth and effectiveness of the organization.
  • When tasked be able provide financial modeling and valuation support for new products, new-build, and other projects.
  • Guides business decisions by measuring and controlling margin objectives and metrics and mitigating any hotel/air/river charter risk

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • B.A in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Successful track record in financial leadership and 5 to 10 years of management experience.
  • Strategic Planning
  • Revenue assessments and development
  • Travel product costings and margin analysis
  • ROI/IRR
  • Financial Management experience from within the travel/tourism/leisure industry. Land Product experience a plus. 
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with senior level operational personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage continuous flow of requests.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to digest and synthesize large amounts of data and information into executive-level reports and documents.
  • Experience modernizing/improving financial processes, and a devotion to continuous improvement. 
  • Strong command and understanding of all financial metrics and ratios used to evaluate business.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and experience building financial models. 
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Must be able to fully integrate into Celebrity's brand culture. 
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required. 
  • Knowledge and extensive experience in accounting and financial systems (i.e. JD Edwards, Hyperion, Excel).
