Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for Associate, Sr Construction Projects with a background in civil, Architecture or MEP engineer to join our team. The Associate, Sr Construction Projects is a responsible for Assisting the Technical Manager as they work alongside architects and external structural engineers to assist in developing architectural designs, construction drawings, and preparing project documentation according to each phase of the project. The Associate, Sr Construction Projects will be responsible for assisting in all phases of design process from schematic design through construction administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Technical Manager, GCs and sub-contractors to ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, local guidelines are met
  • Work with and/or performs the tasks of a cost estimator
  • Evaluate, with Technical Manager, project performance at completion of each phase and at project close out.
  • Will assist with the implementation of a document tracking retention system.
  • Understands the technical implications of design decisions and contributes to the development and documentation of practical, buildable details.
  • Assists with the coordination and production of drawings and construction documents which fulfill the design concept, meet the client's expectations and the firm's goals of design excellence, financial viability and quality service
  • Prepares presentation materials to communicate structural design ideas to stakeholders
  • Works with Technical Manager in project meetings with GCs, sub-contractors and technical engineers
  • Drive collaborative relationship with consultants and knowledge resources to ensure that deliverables are coordinated, integrated and support the performance goals of the project.
  • Supports the Technical Manager with the preparation of design documents and the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases.
  • <25% Int'l Travel



 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; construction management, engineering, supply chain, architecture, business administration or similar (preferred) with 3 + years of work experience as Project Coordinator or similar position.
  • Product Development, Project Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • PMP Certified
  • Change Management experience in a global organization
  • Experience with commercial projects (retail, restaurant, hospitality).
  • Minimum Three years¿ experience as a project engineer, project manager, construction manager or in a similar position in construction management
  • Experience with land valuation, drone surveys, cadastral surveys, topographical surveys, test pit investigation, geotechnical investigation, environmental permit applications process and ecological assessment of sites.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of building materials, detailing, construction techniques, building systems selection, related engineering principles, sustainability strategies and building codes;
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Able to analyze structural and architectural drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail and Highly Organized
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Solid understanding of the construction industry
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management software.
  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail and Internet software.
  • Experience with process and industry methodologies for Project management, KPI development, Process Improvement, & Change Management
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
