Job Description

Position Summary

Employee in this position has a lead role in completing activities to ensure operational excellence and successful execution of the Port Services audit, anti-bribery compliance, and due diligence programs along with other activities related to port agent invoicing and payment process. Employee serves as anti-bribery compliance subject matter expert and provides guidance to Operations, Finance and Billing teams to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Employee will help to identify deficiencies and draft remediation plans and policies & procedures to address areas with identified deficiencies. Employee will serve as liaison with Compliance & Ethics, Audit and Advisory Services as well as external auditors and other external business partners. Employee must be able to provide independent and objective evaluation of port agent invoice submission process, review, approval and payment process as well as port agents handling of payments on behalf of Company through periodic compliance assessments focusing on integrity of financial; operational information and compliance with laws, regulations and contracts.   • Review, analyze, and evaluate targeted sample test data to mitigate or identify compliance issues, unusual trends and outcomes across multiple financial transactions.
  • Lead periodic audits and other analysis to identify and help to resolve business rules issues and invoicing concerns.
  • Document audit findings and prepare action plans for inclusion in audit reports during SOX testing of controls.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assumptions, methodologies and information sources utilized during the performance of all analytical tasks and audit work steps.
  • Manage third party due diligence reviews in accordance with company’s SOX controls.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, appointment letters and contract administration.
  • Collaborate with Port Operations, Billing and Finance teams to investigate and analyze potential anomalies with financial business rules and invoice review.
  • Prepare presentations and SOPs in support of FCPA and other anti-bribery compliance training.
  • Lead other ad hoc project requests or tasks as directed.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understands protocol, confidentiality and maintains the highest standards, both ethical and professional. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes Oxley Act, UK Bribery Act and FCPA applicability RCI
  • Ability to manage assignments with minimal direction while ensuring timely and accurate completion with unprompted upward flow of communication
  • Ability to assist with oversight of junior level positions
  • Strong analytical rigor and problem solving skills with demonstrated intellectual ability to analyze, interpret and present large datasets
  • Ability to create charts and graphs to affectivity depict relevant data outcomes
  • Creative, self-starter, quick thinker and dedicated individual eager to put his/her stamp on this job role
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible

  • Bachelors degree in compliance, finance, accounting or related areas required AND at least two years relevant work experience
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Power Bi
  • At least one year experience with SOX controls, compliance and auditing background particularly finance, compliance and performance audits
  • Extensive data analysis skills; compilation, interpretation and presentation
  • CIA,  TASA, CGSS, CAMS or similar certification preferred, or agreement to obtain in first six months of employment
