Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overall management of the Capital Process for RCL's Energy Management portfolio, primarily developing and managing the financial strategy of Energy capital allocation and oversight.  Responsible for providing guidance to Energy on analyzing, preparing and submitting capital requests. Works with CAR managers to build financial projections and draft memos for review by Capital Committee. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the Energy annual capital plan and forecast updates.  Perform monthly actual to budget/forecast variances, explain differences and recommend actions to mitigate variances going forward.  Prepare quarterly and required forecast reporting.
  • Responsible for interviewing business partners to ensure that capital requests are well understood, prioritizing the requests with the GMO Senior VP, challenging business partners to achieve economies of scale, and ensuring that all relevant aspects have been addressed.
  • Proactively manage the capital request process, ensure memos are prepared, assist with analysis, obtain the relevant approvals, and meet all deadlines. 
  • Follow up on all feedback from Capital Planning and the Capital Committee to:
    • Ensure that memos and analyses are updated to address any questions or concerns.
    • Capital Planning has moved the CARs to the relevant levels of review and approval in the process.
  • Monitor approved projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Ensure Capital policies, procedures and goals are aligned with the company's objectives. Complete procedures as outlined in Company's policies and procedures (SOX and other requirements). 
  • Proactively identify and analyze areas of interest and/or risk. Make recommendations based on analyses that will improve efficiencies and/or obtain cost savings. 
  • Improve monthly processes and procedures to increase efficiency of recurring processes.
  • Performs other duties as required.   

Job Requirements


  • B.A in Finance, Accounting or related field required.  MBA preferred.
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in operational finance.
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with senior level operational personnel.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Knowledge and extensive experience in accounting and financial systems.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Significant knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint. 
  • Strong organizational skills to manage continuous flow of requests coming from business partners. 
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong command and understanding of all financial metrics, ratios to evaluate business. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, with exceptional attention to detail.
