Position Summary:

This position is responsible for participating in ADA compliance initiatives and supporting all access guidelines, standards, and associated products and services offered throughout the three brands - Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises. This role will report directly to the Sr Mgr, Disability Inclusion & ADA Compliance. This role will have a primary focus on supporting the company's implementation of all new ADA and access guidelines and will assist in the development and maintenance of centralizing the documentation of the rule(s), the owners, time-lines, and all other related elements of project management. This role will work with the leadership team of these efforts, and will play an integral part in the continuous planning and coordination of the new rules. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Researches and makes recommendations regarding the inclusion and/or exclusion of new or existing products or services, including all upgrades of accessibility equipment. Provides recommendations to shipboard Management teams that deliver accessibility functions in products and services to our guests.
  • Provides project coordination, analysis and support on the development, tracking, monitoring and reporting of multiple ADA projects, including the ADA Remediation project. Assists with monitoring costs to assure projects operate within budget.
  • Utilizes project management tools and techniques to develop and maintain project scope.
  • Partners with the Legal, Access, and Customer Guest Relations (CGR) departments on all access compliance matters. Reviews, conducts research and provides resolution to ADA related complaints in cooperation with the CGR and Access Teams.
  • Provides the NewBuild department with specific, mandated requirements needed in order to meet regulatory compliance for all new builds as well as for all revitalizations and refurbishments.
  • Collaborates with domestic and international offices in fulfilling initiatives, goals and objectives that support the fleets of the 3 brands through the implementation of the new ADA rules.
  • Administers the Standard Operating Processes and Procedures and provides guidance on how to deliver accessible protocols for all guests-facing departments (ship and shore). Ensures that protocols are being properly implemented in order to avoid any potential ADA compliance violations.
  • Conducts accessibility compliance audits and provides findings and recommendations, as requested by management.
  • Works with all steering committee working groups related to ADA compliance and Accessibility to offer guidance and ensures that progress and timelines are being met.
  • May attend Federal and Industry events to monitor other sources, as needed, to keep up with the most current Federal legislation or updates regarding providing service to persons with disabilities.

Job Requirements


  • 2-3 years working with special needs and ADA practices, policies, products and services, preferably in the hospitality industry. 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Working knowledge of available products, services, trends and agencies.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies and make recommendations and give presentations.
  • Proven track record of implementing recommendations in conjunction with various departments and priorities.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.
  • Project Management experience with large projects.
