Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff level position within the fixed assets accounting department. The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for performing month-end close procedures including monitoring of construction in progress, placing assets in service, calculating monthly depreciation expense, processing asset disposals and preparing fixed asset account reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Open accounts in JDEdwards general ledger database in connection with the Capital Appropriation Request System (CAR).
  • Maintain job cost accounts in JDEdwards database.
  • Assist with entries to place assets in service
  • Assist in processing asset disposals
  • Run depreciation
  • Run integrity reports
  • Assist in preparing monthly fixed assets roll forward schedules and fixed asset schedules for external auditors.
  • Prepare fixed assets schedules for tangible property tax reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly impairment analysis for Information Technology.
  • Manage deadline requirements and perform special projects.
  • Record Capital leases journal entries and maintain amortization schedules
  • Record Other Comprehensive Income amortization entries and maintain schedules
  • Record monthly labor allocation entries (IT, Supply Chain, Marine, Hotel,
  • Newbuild, Riding Crew)
  • Record journal entries related to joint ventures
  • Record reclass journal entries as submitted by the brands
  • Assist with preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Document processes and procedures

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum two years' experience in public or private general accounting or financial reporting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    Knowledge of the JDEdwards general ledger database application and fixed assets module

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and take ownership of projects. 
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, peers and other employees.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and finish tasks in a timely manner, particularly during month end.
