Position Summary: 
The Senior Manager, HR Operations Process Optimization will own leadership-level relationship and serve as a single point of focus, working to converge HR Operations and the business in our quest to change the way HR Operations solve problems, ensuring we work with a holistic approach, and drive operational standards across HR Operations Globally. This role will lead the adoption and programmatic direction in the areas of operational excellence, digital transformation capabilities such as Business Process Management & Robotic Process Automation, as well as the framework for execution and implementation of Organizational Change Management. This role will be responsible for developing and evolving the HR Operations capability maturity assessment model/tool and will work closely in the execution of the assessment and assist in crafting roadmaps impacting the enterprise and departmental Objectives & Key Results.

This individual will be passionately focused on finding ways to operate workforce operations faster, cost effective and efficient without impacting quality or compliance, all while maintaining a relentless focus on driving impeccable Employee Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leads the HR Optimization project, the reengineering, complete overhaul of HR process with the objective of achieving cost reduction and quality of services.
  • Work with business leaders and enable them to articulate their functions wants/needs (i.e. technology, people, process, etc.) that will advance business performance;
  • Partner with technology leads across the enterprise to develop and maintain business capability roadmaps
  • Partner with leadership team members (Recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, System Support, Analytics, HRBP, Operations shipboard & shoreside) as well as other business peers to ensure effective business transformation for all initiatives
  • Manage vendor relationship with all vendors related to the project including consultants.
  • Leads on the delivery of project milestones, identifying issues and risks and facilitating problems resolution; this also includes the preparation and completion of action plans.
  • Assures the optimization of processes with the inclusion of technological enhancements and AI that may be available at any given time and that could bring significant benefits to the operations and to the crew experience. In this context, the leader is constantly engaged in cross-functional networks with the brands and the other corporate teams to assure that any available opportunities at the horizon are promptly fostered.
  • Partner with business leadership to plan new initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities
  • Brief stakeholders on the operations team’s plans and assist in the execution of said plans.
  • Think strategically by identifying business function opportunities and the best-suited position for the function’s adoption within the HR Operations organization
  • Develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, business capability requirements and AI.
  • Build and manage the relationship team to ensure convergence and strategic partnering with the operational teams, including working closely with respective executive leadership as executive sponsors for each division.
  • Ensure that the supporting functions of HR Operations are knowledgeable about the business processes and their objectives; engage as a project/program stakeholder, including evaluating project efforts and progress against joint strategic plans and objectives
  • This role includes activities related to best practices, workflows and process improvement, application use of technologies to optimize workforce planning, center productivity and Deploy Practice Optimization Program which optimizes processes, people and technology manage expenses.
  • Correlate business value and priorities to planning activities and goal setting; ¿
  • Be creative and innovative with regards to knowledge and awareness of industry trends, digital and AI advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.
  • Evaluate joint initiatives as they relate to HR strategy to ensure convergence and opportunities for measurable success;
  • Develop a deep knowledge of all divisions that supports the workforce planning activity and build positive relationship development, both horizontally and vertically;
  • Ensure business value realization and optimization, from value plans through consultancy, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value
  • Oversee a team of leads, business analysts, developers, and solutions engineers by providing operational guidance, thoughts, leadership, and mentorship for them to unleash their superpowers

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills: 

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, International Business, Finance, Psychology or related field is required or 15 years senior management experience in the cruise line or travel industry in human resources or operational role.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant operations related to workforce planning
  • 10+ years of experience in internal management role
  • Experience in the fields of Employee Relations/Compliance and Employee Services
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams. Proven leader with high energy, confidence, and demonstrated ability to influence others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of Sr. management through diplomacy and tact to achieve strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to both create and adapt to change by being forward thinking.
  • Global exposure to different countries, vendors, agents and government dignitaries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and experienced in managing diverse groups.
  • Ability to work and lead teams in multiple time zone
  • Possess strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting complex ideas/concepts to senior-level management.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and motivate employees
  • Effective leaders and people managers with a strong working relationship with staff, peers and bosses. Other essential qualities for the role include creativity and an orientation to results
