Position Summary:

 

The Shipboard Compensation Lead is the primary contact point between Shipboard Compensation and Shipboard Operations, both Hotel and Marine, for all core compensation related requests. The Lead will work with the Business to provide them with workable solutions that remain fair, competitive, equitable, and compliant and aligned with business goals.

This position will report to Sr. Manager of Total Rewards and will work closely with all the Human Resource Business Partners and stakeholders.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Liaise with Operations to understand business needs and advise appropriate actions.
  • Ensure full compliance of all shipboard compensation with CBA requirements, applicable regulations and corporate guidelines.
  • Plans, develops, recommends and implements new and revised compensation strategies, programs, policies and procedures, in order to be responsive to the Company's strategic goals and competitive practices.
  • Develop and administer market pricing activities for Shipboard positions. These activities include the matching of internal positions to external data using standardized surveys for purposes of making recommendations to line management regarding salary levels, total compensation opportunity, and/or hiring ranges for a given position.
  • Plans, leads and drives the completion of the annual merit increase process.
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Analytics and HR Operations teams regarding compensation data, projects and processes

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in HR, Finance, Accounting or other related field with a preference for experience in compensation administration.
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline.

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Able to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.

  • Able to supervise small team and effectively provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Able to analyze and resolve complex issues and problems in a sound and timely fashion.

  • Able to be diplomatic when handling calls/correspondence for Management and outside the company.
  • Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Able to prepare/analyze appropriate reports and other business correspondence.
  • Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.
  • Able to sort through numerical information and recognize trends and details.
  • Able to use relevant computer system applications (E1, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access HR ERP system) at least at an intermediate level.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.

 

 

 

Physical Demands:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those requirements employees must meet to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.  While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information.  The employee may move out the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
