Position Summary:

The International Analytics and Automation team is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of data projects and reporting tools for the International organization. The SQL developer manages the team's Oracle and Azure relational SQL databases; schedules and maintains Oracle, Azure, R, Python, and SAS batch jobs; maintains Git code repository; collaborates with the team to ensure data integrity and consistency; and provides expertise to team on SQL and database best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage team’s Oracle SQL and Azure SQL databases.
  • Manage user permissions and ensure compliance with company data privacy standards.
  • Maintain group database credentials and permissions.
  • Schedule and maintain SQL, Azure, Python, R, and SAS batch jobs.
  • Maintain team’s Git code repository and ensure proper documentation of database structure, code, and jobs.
  • Work with both internal and external data architecture teams to ensure set up of new database objects meets team’s needs
  • Assist team analysts with building SQL queries and validating output against source data.
  • Maintain record of known data issues that affect analytics results and work with internal teams to resolve.
  • Serve as resident expert on company internal repositories of data.
  • Serve as team representative at technical meetings.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new technologies to improve database performance.
  • Acquire relevant Oracle and Azure certifications, if not already certified.
  • Assist all areas of the business as appropriate.

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related required.
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining Oracle SQL databases required.
  • Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional Certification may be substituted for education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining Azure relational SQL databases preferred.
  • MCA Azure Developer, Administrator, or Architect certification may be substituted for Azure experience.
  • Ability to legally work in the US without sponsorship required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Oracle SQL expertise required.
  • Microsoft SQL experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and independently, as task requires.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively to non-technical business partners.
  • Experience with Git repositories preferred.
  • Experience developing Azure relational SQL databases preferred.
  • Excellent ability to organize and document code, processes, and database structure.
  • Comfortable working Agile environment.
  • Ability and willingness to develop new technical skills.
