Position Summary: 

The Senior Analyst Deployment and Itinerary Planning, as part of the Strategic Planning Team, is responsible for development and refinement of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises unique portfolio of cruise products. This position will influence the strategic direction and financial performance of each brand through quantitative analysis and market research, creating new itineraries, partnering with global destinations, and continually improving the way we develop and manage new itinerary products. There will be significant exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Shore Ex, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International and other departments within the Company.  As needed, will serve in a supporting role for sister brands in the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst will develop and maintain financial analyses and other quantitative models to guide deployment decisions. Assignments within Deployment and Itinerary Planning will typically involve quantitative and qualitative analysis of a competitive situation, development of recommendations, and written and/or oral presentation of those recommendations to Senior Management.  Assignments will vary and may include one or more of the following:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance product-level profitability and guest satisfaction monitoring and forecasting models
  • Work closely with key departments throughout the organization to reach consensus on deployment recommendations for senior and executive management
  • Evaluate ways to enhance our itineraries balancing all of the various constraints to increase their profit potential and guest satisfaction.
  • Be aware of competitive product offerings and performance as well as macroeconomic and environmental factors impacting the cruise industry
  • Liaise with ports, governments, and other stakeholders in destinations around the world to guide continual improvement in the quality of destinations we offer
  • Assist when needed, communicating itinerary changes to or seeking approval of new itinerary products from various internal departments
  • Work closely with charter sales teams to validate itinerary proposals

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Knowledge & Skills:

  • MBA or Masters Degree preferred; BBA or Bachelors Degree in quantitative discipline required.
  • Must be able to think creatively
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification.
  • Ability to structure logically quantitative analyses of complex issues.
  • Competency in computer systems and applications (MS Excel, Word, & Power point) is essential, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources.
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Essbase preferred, but not required
  • Ability to operate within a cross-functional environment. Willingness to accept immediate project responsibility.
  • Ability to effectively use oral and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently and use proper judgment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the cruise industry is preferred but not as important as the desire and ability to learn quickly.
