POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Manager, Security Systems Administration is to make sure that the security infrastructure upon which the company depends is protected. Information assets, computing systems and the health and safety of our guests and crew are maintained and available to perform its functions 24/7.

Our Manager, Security Systems Administration should be familiar with standard operational technology management and capable of leading a team of systems administrators focused on information security technologies. This leadership role has a small team with a broad mandate - overseeing the health and operations of all dedicated information security infrastructure, including firewalls, anti-virus, security monitoring, vulnerability scanners, etc. while driving continual improvement.

The Manager of Security Systems Administration will support delivery teams when deploying or improving information security technologies and assist the business teams to ensure that those systems are configured to provide the business the ability to perform its functions in an appropriately secure manner.

A sufficient experience in systems administration is required, knowledge of specific security technologies, such as vulnerability scanners, anti-virus, firewalls, Security Event and Information Management systems, and Intrusion Protection Systems would be a plus.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of security systems administrators to effectively run security  systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Develops and maintains ongoing maintenance strategy for security applications and infrastructure including routine patching, upgrades, and fulfillment of service requests to modify configurations as needed.
  • Coordinate with Security Architecture and Security Engineering to implement new technologies, integrate new and existing technologies and improve overall security technology architecture and operational performance.
  • Ensure systems inventory is accurately represented and maintained within the IT Asset Management system of record.
  • Ensure on-call staffing is maintained and participate in the Security Operations Escalation on-call rotation.
  • Provides direction including  growth opportunities and challenging initiatives to build and retain a high performance team.
  • Provide Security Systems Administration team training as needed.
  • Work with the IT teams that partner with business units to ensure that security infrastructure is configured to support existing and new business processes.
  • Make recommendations for enhancement and process improvements of IT security operations.
  • Maintain timely and complete communications within the IT department, IT Security and Compliance, Security Architecture, and Security Engineering.
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships within IT and across key Business personnel.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

 

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Bachelors Degree in Information Security or equivalent.

Security industry relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CIPP

7+ years of information technology experience including experience in IT and/or Information Security systems administration.

Multi-agency, multi-organizational (global) or enterprise-wide IS technical and administrative expertise highly preferred. 

Candidate must have the proven ability to serve as an effective member of a business information security and systems operations team. 

Candidate must be collaborative, highly organized, creative, and effective communicator (both written and verbal).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to create high quality content with quick delivery expectations with minimal supervision.

Ability to work on multiple projects, balancing a mix of resources, due dates and requirements.

ITIL and ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management background a plus.

Strong leadership and business acumen.
