Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining dry dock safety programs, equipment, procedures and policies as they relate to dry dock/modernization operations. The position focuses on strategic level solutions across the main risk elements of Fire & Evacuation operations: firefighting, confined space and evacuation - including emergency planning as it relates to these elements. The position will provide tactical management capacity for the fleet safety officers when working as project safety managers for various projects and represent the shoreside link from the safety department to the project department. The position will directly report into the newbuild department with dotted line to maritime safety.
Utilize internal and external data to support evidence-based decision making while developing and maintaining processes that support ship board safety plans and provide monitoring and analysis for incidents, suggestions and non-conformities. The position must project manage corrective actions/new regulations/continuous improvement initiates related to the maritime safety program. Ensuring alignment towards a unified vision for a solution across all brands and presenting outcomes and status to senior shipboard officers and all levels of shoreside management, such as SVP and business leaders

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The position may require the employee to visit vessels in service or in dry dock. Additional facilities like factories or service stations may need to be visited.
