Job Description


The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs to the equipment, electrical, mechanical and structural requirements of the Logistics Center and assist with all South Florida locations. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.  


  1. Perform all preventative maintenance and repairs of the Logistics Center’s equipment and facilities on a scheduled basis as required or directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Provide troubleshooting and support to meet operational goals
  2. Assist in maintaining and monitoring work schedules for the maintenance department to ensure all equipment and facility requirements are operating efficiently to meet the needs for all operational processes
  3. Assist in maintaining and ordering inventory and spare parts required for the Logistics Center operations
  4. As directed, assist in making recommendations as to maintenance and operation of projects prior to and during construction
  5. Perform day to day operations at the Logistic Center and assist with maintenance repairs, furniture moves and restacks at all South Florida locations. Assist in the maintenance of records and reports on work performed by the maintenance contractors
  6. Receive and investigate calls for emergency repairs
  7. Assist in providing technical advice on recommendations for equipment specifications and reliability
  8. Provide training to warehouse personnel on the safe and proper operation of twenty-six material handling machines and associated battery charging stations, one floor scrubber, one power vacuum, six scales, five wrapping machines, thirty-nine overhead doors and dock levelers
  9. Oversees maintenance for one warehouses.  Total square footage is approximately 260,000.
  10. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on the following: 6 26 material handling and associated battery charging stations, 39 overhead doors and dock levelers.
  11. Assists in maintaining inventory of spare parts for facilities and equipment totaling $15,000
  12. Assists in maintaining tools and equipment required to perform all job requirements - $30,000
  13. Assists in monitoring and maintaining fire, water, power and security systems for continuous service and compliance

Job Requirements


  1. Bachelors degree or equivalent required in a related field.
  2. Ten years experience in mechanical, electrical and construction products and procedures
  3. State Certified as an operator and trainer for pallet jacks, fork lifts and for lift reach trucks


  1. Knowledgeable of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
  2. Knowledgeable of Federal, State and Local Safety, Building and Fire Codes
  3. Available on a twenty-four hour, seven day emergency basis
