Job Description


Liaises with assigned vessels, shipboard personnel, shore side contacts and suppliers to ensure timely processing of Logistics Invoices relating to freight movements and/or storage.
1. Researches outstanding issues with suppliers or internally to ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner and according to the established standards of procedure (SOP) 2. Identifies process efficiencies by understanding the operation and applying these concepts to Freight Payment and Planning 3. Resolves any invoices in disputes and reconciles statements efficiently and timely 4. Assists in setting up new suppliers as well as training them on our established payment guidelines to ensure that the Freight Payment piece of the process is deployed accurately 5. Understands how the annual freight budget is built by freight category and applies these methodologies to invoice processing. 6. Assists with end of month Freight Variance Explanations 7. Identifies suppliers that are billing outside the established agreement, contract, and/or SOP and takes necessary steps to correct. 8. Performs other duties as required. Job Requirements

1. High school degree or equivalent required, bachelor degree or equivalent preferred. 2. 2-3 yrs of experience in an operations, logistics or financial role. 3. Basic knowledge of logistics, transportation, and purchasing concepts, practices and procedures, specifically ocean, truck, and air freight procedures, inventory, order fulfillment, distribution and international and domestic customs procedures. 4. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with daily demands and multiple customers. 5. Some Negotiation and analytical skills preferred. 6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management. 7. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. 8. Ability to do basic analysis in excel.
9. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. 10. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers.
