Position Summary:

The Revenue Management Lead is responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating and conducting all training and best practices programs for the Revenue Management Product Teams. The responsibilities include communicating with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans as well as leveraging the seniors on the product teams to help develop the trainings and best practices. The Lead will also assist with the creation and implementation of product strategic plans to maximize ticket revenues and utilization of stateroom inventory.  The Lead will work closely with the team Manager, Director, as well as Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services and other operational departments to implement this plan. The Lead will guide and coach a team of product analysts to achieve revenue plan and forecast through optimal pricing and inventory decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops and conducts Revenue Management Training programs to include new business systems, RM theory, new Revenue initiatives and best practices that will enable participants to better revenue manage products and promotions.
  • Develops a comprehensive training calendar prioritizing the best opportunities for training within global Revenue Management teams.
  • Trains, develops, and provides ongoing guidance and support to the department and partner with the Strategy team on the launch of new revenue initiatives and new analytical tools that will assist in daily sailing management
  • Ensures that a feedback and monitoring process is in place for all training, ensuring effectiveness and quality of results.
  • Trains, provides product feedback, and coaches a team of analysts in order to achieve revenue plan target and forecast.
  • Responsible for revenue maximization via inventory and pricing management.  This includes reviewing product pricing to ensure fares support strategic sales and marketing initiatives.  The Lead also assists in the preparation of incentive and charter sales quotes for the Sales Incentive team. 
  • The position will also provide analytical support for cross-departmental action plans and promotions with Sales and Marketing when indications point to demand and pricing softness.  The position also requires coordination and implementation of promotions to address product needs and develop initiatives that drive volume through more cost-effective distribution channels.
  • Provides sailing level forecast guidance for product portfolios that support quarterly Wall Street guidance.
  • Create and distribute reports to Senior Leadership on key strategic initiatives/products, as well as tactical reactions to changing conditions.  Provide regular updates to management on these key initiatives/products via trading meeting, regular updates, etc.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree (MA) strongly preferred
  • Two years related experience in financial / business analysis or related field required
  • Familiarization with revenue management concepts and tools preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in project management

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to manage, coach and develop direct reports
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret revenue performance data
  • Ability to structure logically quantitative analysis of complex issues
  • Ability to operate in cross functional environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and use proper judgment
  • Willingness to accept immediate product and project responsibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentations skills
  • Ability to work in global environment and foster relationships
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is absolutely required
  • Competency of computer systems and applications is essential, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources
  • Strong Excel, Power point and Hyperion and basic Colonial/AS400 is required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once and operate in a team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Revenue Management and micro-economics is preferred
