Position Summary

The HR Strategic Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Royal Caribbean International HR team in the development and implementation of HR strategic projects for the brand.  He/she will be responsible for overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with the Brand’s strategy, commitments and goals.  Projects may include (but are not limited to): yearly strategy plans and presentations, international development programs and learning initiatives, the ROYAL Way, engagement action plans, business improvement/efficiency projects, data analysis and reporting, system implementation, Centers of Excellence projects, Brand initiatives, change management, and others.  This position will also be responsible for owning the tracking of the team’s performance through KPIs, while always identifying opportunities to improve.

While this position reports to the RCI Shoreside Director, he/she will work closely with HR and Brand senior leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Royal Caribbean International HR Leadership team, ship and shore, in developing strategic plans and executive presentations in order to translate business objectives into projects with clearly defined scope, timing, deliverables, resources and key measures of success
  • Responsible for end to end project life cycle and delivery of specific project activities. This includes but is not limited to: undertaking analysis, gathering business requirements, planning, reporting, providing recommendations to drive operational efficiency and improvement, develop communication strategy, as well as full business change management if necessary.
  • In partnership with the brand HR team, engage with COE’s to understand key HR projects, prioritize and agree on a calendar.
  • Ensure that all risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and opportunities are identified, captured, communicated and appropriately managed.
  • Will define, measure and report on the success metrics that will evidence the benefits of the projects undertaken. To support the development and implementation of HR KPI’s, as well as generate monthly reports to track results. This position will be the first point of contact for HR Insights.
  • Provide timely and accurate status reporting on the progress of each project within the role
  • Will work on adhoc projects as deemed necessary to support the overall department internally / externally with specific relationships to include: HR, IT, HRIS Systems and external learning platforms.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of project management experience or leading in a project / program management environment
  • Experience in Leading projects / analytics in Human Resources

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to lead and collaborate with persons at all levels of responsibility and cultural background to formulate, communicate and implement projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Capable of formulating and driving independent decisions and recommendations
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate creativity, analysis and problem solving of many individuals which leads to consensus on solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written. Recognized that different cultures and levels of seniority require different approaches
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence and manage people
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in a fast paced organization
  • Independent and able to take direction from a distance and self-manage without having to be supervised daily
  • Organized with a natural inclination for problem solving, root cause identification and planning
