Director, Newbuild and Fleet Modernization Procurement Excellence

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The incumbent leads the strategic sourcing, negotiating, contracting and supply for the Newbuild vessel procurement across industry leading and expansive RCG portfolio.

 

Collaborative and data-driven, the role leads multi-vessel sourcing program development, contracting negotiations, while extensively collaborating with Newbuild org, Brand Ops, Finance, GMO. The role ensures ongoing operations and execution are meeting performance goals and internal client service levels.

 

This incumbent works closely with most areas of Supply Chain on Owner Supply, Technology, Logistics, PMO to drive the overall NB/Fleet Modification  discipline and provides guidance on the most cost-effective methodology of supply globally for the projects. Additionally, this position champions best practices of supplier management, yard integration, quality control and flawless execution. 

 

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Key point of contact between Newbuild org, Brands, GMO, Supply Chain. 

Procurement strategy integration between the yards, major components manufacturers, and GMO.

Development and implementation of the world-class procurement program and structure to create the value chain from the yard dock to flawless and cost-effective operations encompassing Owner Supply, IT, Onboard Revenue, Deck, Safety, and Security, Energy Management, and Galley Equipment

Frequent executive updates and proactive collaboration with Newbuild, GMO, Finance, Shared Service and the Brands to align objectives and direction.

Develop highly effective supplier relationships in an effort to execute the overall strategies maintains strong collaboration with key suppliers for foster innovations, quality, flawless delivery and cost savings.

Formulate vision, business case and implement cutting-edge technology as an enabler for efficiency, cost control, contract utilization

Key contributor to the SKU management council to as a means to cost controls and operational agility

Leadership is the team mentoring, development, measuring and evaluating performance

Compliance with SOX and various company policies on ethics, environment, health, safety. Key contributor to sustainable cruises on carbon mitigation, single use plastic reduction, as well as supplier diversity

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Variable, direct and indirect responsibility for NB/Project procurement, approaching $2B annually.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business. Graduate degree is highly desired.

12+ years of experience in sourcing, contracting, and related fields, preferably in travel and leisure, auto, aircraft or marine industries involving major component manufactures.

Strong track record in managing diverse teams.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Thought Leader of Supply Chain Management concepts, controls and best practices specifically related to management of hotel-related and marine manufacturers.

Leads development of procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and often complex variables. Negotiates price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule.

Expert at interpreting commodity data of government and non-governmental organizations. 

Expert knowledge of advanced contract terms and conditions and skilled in uniform commercial code. Author of the company's delivery and invoicing policies.

Expert in analysis, forecasting, problem solving and quality improvement in the execution of strategies. Ensures total costs are identified and optimized throughout the entire procurement process. 

Exceptional written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all senior levels of management, supplier executives, regulators, investors and general public.

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. The environment includes work inside/outside the office, travel to other offices, possibly travel domestic and international, and work in shipboard functions. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
