Position Summary:

The Digital Ad Developer will work alongside senior designers, copywriters, and other members of the creative team to design, code and animate HTML5 banner ads for Royal Caribbean International’s digital advertising campaigns. The successful candidate will have the necessary knowledge and skillset to produce high quality static, animated and interactive motion graphics to bring creative campaigns to life. They will be responsible for meeting all production timelines for various coinciding initiatives in a fast-paced environment, brainstorming creative concepts with the project team, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations, and developing detailed design specs for production in a collaborative work environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the design team to develop interactive ideas and execute them using Adobe Animate or other platforms from existing files or from scratch
  • Ensure banner ads are built to IAB standards and vendor compliance for distribution with high attention to detail
  • Writing code from scratch and upgrading/enhancing scalable ActionScript/Java Script code, create classes and compile components 
  • Responsible for file management, naming and arranging layers, component hierarchy, development handoff, understanding of responsive design, exporting assets, and thorough understanding of best practices for intended medium
  • Understand business and end user
  • Devise and pitch creative concepts that align with overall brand objectives, answer strategic needs of the initiative, and further the internal client’s business goals
  • Successfully manage and meet all production timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Stay up to date with current software and technologies
  • Troubleshooting and finding solutions to ensure banner ad display on multiple devices and browsers
  • Stay current and knowledgeable of established brand guidelines and ensure all work is within guidelines or contributing to the evolution of the brand


Job Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • BFA in Computer Science or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in digital media
  • Advanced level of proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Experience publishing and delivering working files for HTML5 video and motion graphic banner ads
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Adobe Animate, Media Encoder)
  • Knowledge of Sketch a plus 
  • Knowledge of processing, exporting and optimizing assets to be used in HTML5 animations
  • Knowledge of Google Web Designer a plus
  • Familiarity in building Flashtalking specific banners a plus
  • Knowledge of IAB Standards and Best practices
  • Knowledge of Adobe Animate design & animation principles
  • Knowledge of Adobe Animate components and Doubleclick Components use
  • Knowledge of Rich Media design and implementation
  • Knowledge of dynamic HTML5 principles and limitations
  • Good time management/project management skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good collaboration skills
  • Must be creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized
