Job Description

The Energy Management department is looking for a Senior Level SQL and .NET Developer to join our exciting and growing team. The developer will be responsible for the coding, production, modification, documentation, and maintenance of enterprise-class web tools for desktop and mobile. He/she will create web-based tools that provide business users with the insight needed to make decisions on how to reduce our operating costs and minimize risk.
Front end development will be done on the .NET web application platform using data stored in both SQL Server and Oracle databases. Business Intelligence will be presented using interactive JavaScript charts and/or Power BI Dashboards with data drilling capabilities.


  • Responsible for the design, development, operation, and maintenance of web-based .Net applications, web services and interfaces.
  • Develop web based solutions through all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including solution design, development, implementation, and production support of reusable and reliable code
  • Support with the vessel operations performance big data strategy (1B data tags collected from the fleet) and extract from the cloud database using APIs
  • Designing, developing, and implementing web tools by analyzing and understanding user and business requirements
  • Envisioning and developing new system features and functionality to make existing tools more efficient and user-friendly
  • Automate forecasting tools & energy reports
  • Execute regular reports and liaise with the relevant stakeholders (GMO Executives, Finance, Corp. Planning, Revenue teams)
  • Determines the best design methodologies and tool sets needed for each project
  • Designing and conducting test cases for each business objective
  • Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development to possible purchase alternatives
  • Provides technical guidance and training to business users
  • Meets deadlines/milestone markers by coordinating meetings, gathering the proper requirements, and completing daily development activities
  • Contributing and providing recommendations during weekly team meetings
  • Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms

Job Requirements


  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / MIS
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Enterprise application development using .NET framework C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience writing technical design specifications.
  • 3+ years of experience with creating test cases and good understanding of the Quality Assurance process
  • Understanding of development tools and processes, including source code control, versioning, branching, defect tracking and release management
  • Outstanding analytical & problem-solving skills


  • 3+ years experience with Backend/web application development using ASP .NET MVC
  • Deploying web applications to SQL Server 2012 through current versions
  • 3+ years experience creating and modifying SSIS Packages
  • 3+ years building web applications that connect to API and pull data.
  • Automation experience with business and technology processes.
  • Experience with the MVC architectural pattern and source control
  • ORM tools like Entity Framework, Linq2SQL, Hibernate
  • Web Service Technologies: WCF, WebAPI, REST API
  • HTML5, CSS support through the Bootstrap Framework
  • JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX
  • Basic understanding of relational database systems such as Oracle, MSSQL
  • Basic understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, Transact-SQL
  • Hands on experience using a data visualization tool, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
