Position Summary:

Deployment and Itinerary Planning, as part of the Finance Organization, is responsible for strategic analysis, development, optimization and implementation of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises unique portfolio of cruise products. This team also provides operational and go-to-market support for Azamara Club Cruises. This small multi-branded team interacts with a wide range of external and internal partners and stakeholders.

As a member of this dynamic team, the Deployment Operations Berthing Analyst will report directly the Manager of Deployment Operations. In addition, this position has a dotted line to the Director of Deployment and Destinations Planning for Azamara Club Cruises for operational support.  This role will also work very closely to support the Director, Managers and individual Strategy Analysts of the team in implementing, bringing to market and managing the deployment and itineraries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and build relationships with ports, port agents, and terminal operators in over 500+ destinations around the world.
  • Resolve berthing conflicts, in a timely manner, for a specific port through discussion with the port agents and/or ports in coordination with the deployment strategy team, internal/external stakeholders, and shipboard executive committees.  Uses deployment tools to calculate the variance in fuel and port fees from the current itineraries.
  • Relentless tracking, follow-up, and timely reporting of berthing status for future deployment, custom charters and existing deployment.
  • Engage Port Operations Managers in a timely manner to escalate specific berthing conflicts and other berthing related issues with the ports and or agents
  • Primary contact within the team for the Brenock IMS Berthing tool.  Work with the vendor, and port operations to ensure all ports/port agents have proper access and know how to use the tool.
  • Identify areas for process improvement for confirming and tracking berthing.
  • Learn and understand specific policies and berthing timelines and practices of different regions and ports around the world
  • Continually reviews any discrepancies between the deployment itinerary sheets and AS400 reservation system. Based on the discrepancies, the analyst must decide whether an itinerary modification needs to be sent, changes need to be made, and if they need to escalate the situations to other members of the team.
  • Provide information requests of port call information with internal stakeholders such as Government Relations, Port Operations, and the Brand Operations teams.
  • Maintain department intranet site, including daily updates to deployment calendars.
  • Provides support to deployment operations & strategy colleagues including:
         a. Deployment loading process
         b. Itinerary modifications
         c. Deployment reviews
         d. Manage open items
         e. Charter vetting
         f. Proof marketing, sales and PR collateral to ensure accurate itinerary content

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred
  • Shipping/cruise industry knowledge and experience communicating with international business contacts is desired but not required
  • AS400 knowledge is preferred

  • Familiarity with NIY calculation and deployment optimization tools
  • Knowledge of the impact of our itineraries upon each area and be knowledgeable of issues such as:
  • Market Demand and Sourcing Expectations
  • Immigration, Customs and Other Governmental Regulations
  • Port Constraints, Commitments, Incentives and Long-term Relationships
  • Hotel, Marine and Supply Chain Logistics
  • Fuel supply & itinerary consumption
  • Global Safety & Environment issues
