Position Summary:

 

The Associate Program Manager position is a critical role with rci product development pmo that helps support various programs across our ship and land product portfolio. the Associate program manager would be responsible for managing small size projects with increasing responsibility using various project management approaches and tools

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Adheres to established project management processes and methodologies
  • Spearheads cross-project activities with various internal and exterior team members.  
  • Supports decisions made by the Program Managers and takes timely independent actions in pursuit of project priorities
  • Drives a culture of innovation, simplification and continuous improvement through best practice and research.
  • Leads small projects and possibly larger ones depending on experience and abilities
  • Responsible for supporting the Program Managers with the development of project schedules and other related documentation
  • Understand the product and organizational impact by partner with Stakeholders and Product Owners.
  • Lead and execute initiatives by developing presentations, recommendations, and planning/managing delivery.
  • Manages the identification of operational changes required to meet project deliverables
  • Helps to implement processes created by program managers and to provide reporting on compliance
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to obtain information that is required
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Prepares standard project status reports for project delivery team or work group, client and management.
  • Reports typically include: status update, budget, schedule and risk.
  • Coordinates and schedules meeting and communication plan(s) regarding projects among team and/or client.
  • Coordinates and obtains vendor quotations for processing.
  • Coordinates change orders and contemplative change notices
  • Enters project information data (i.e. project status updates, schedule updates, cash flow forecasts) and project documentation into project management technology tools (software applications, web-based tools, job cost accounting tools).
  • Acts as a point of contact for escalated matters among the team.
  • Assists in project close-out procedures for all projects Assists with project administration deliverables (i.e. meeting minutes; budget tracking; scheduling; closeout).

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Administration with 3 + years of work experience as Project Coordinator or similar position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product Development, Project Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • PMP Certified
  • Change Management experience in a global organization
  • Exposure to Python coding language or other data automation/wrangling tools is a plus

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office 365
  • BI Analytics & Data Visualization Experience is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail and Internet software.
  • Experience with process and industry methodologies for Project management, KPI development, Process Improvement, & Change Management
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
