Position Summary:

The Revenue Management Analyst will have the opportunity to determine pricing, create promotions, and explore new distribution opportunities. The Analyst will own the implementation of a business plan and product strategy, and provide analysis to measure their effectiveness.  They will have exposure to senior management and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services, International offices, and Reservations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the maximization of net ticket revenue yields and overall profitability
  • Performs analysis and interprets data to make decisions on pricing and inventory availability that are in line with the business plan. Understand implications of currency changes and alter market specific pricing to optimize sourcing mix. 
  • The analyst will monitor reporting and analyze large volumes of data in order to identify micro-economic trends and develop action plans in response to changes for assigned inventory.
  • Provides analysis and interpretation of data to assist in determining strategies on pricing, implementation of promotions, global guest sourcing, currency management and maximization of occupancy.  Also responsible for developing strategic and tactical responses to changes in competitive deployment, pricing and strategy.
  • Make recommendations for pricing on full ship charters and large contract groups based on analysis of historical and current data and trends.
  • Plan, coordinate and communicate strategies and promotions with various departments in tandem with the Manager to improve future revenue performance.
  • Performs post analysis on promotional programs and tools and provides recommendations
  • Maintain, optimize and create analytical tools, including understanding of demand trends and booking curves by key segments, finding efficiencies and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Fulfills revenue management tasks within the following programs: seminars at sea, cruise certificates, perishable inventory, strategic partner account programs, loyalty programs, direct mail campaigns, and other ad hoc initiatives.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters degree (MA) preferred
  • Bachelors degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred
  • 2-4 years related experience in financial / business analysis or related field preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of revenue management concepts and tools and demonstrate understanding of basic economics
  • Previous experience with Sales or Marketing and global markets preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

To perform this position successfully, the individual should be a self starter and be able to complete a project with little direction.  Furthermore, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty in a timely and accurate manor.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or ability required to satisfy this position:

  • Demonstrated aptitude to problem solve and problem identification. 
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret revenue performance data
  • Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions with large financial impacts with minimal supervision
  • Strong Excel, Power point required. Experience in Hyperion and basic Colonial/AS400 preferred
  • Knowledge of reservations system and revenue management data preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and implement new programs
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and ability to develop and deliver presentations to Senior Management
