Brief Description of Team

There is no aspect of environmental management and sustainability that we are not involved with - either onboard our ships, in the waters of the world they operate, or in the destinations that they take our guests. Being part of the RCL environmental team is like being part of the world's environmental team!                                                                                                            

Brief Description of Intern Project

Interns will be educated on our Environmental Programs and Management Tasks related to ship Environmental Operations and Sustainability. The following are some of the tasks they will be involved with and we will assign one internship long specific project:
• AWL reports and follow up with ships to ensure accuracy of reports
• Consolidation of ADEC report questions and answers
• Calculating the volume of waste offloaded for all brands.
• Evaluate environmental incidents from to identify the ship, event name, KPI class, root cause, and corrective action for each incident
• Assist in the EO trainings and developing continuous education tools
• Complete Environmental Officer Level 1 Training
• Assist in the identification of potential Waste to Energy facilities and coordinating site visits with our Environmental Officer’s to conduct site inspections on those facilities.
• Analyze and follow up with ship's environmental equipment operations/efficiencies
• Assist with Sustainability projects and reporting to public
• Assist with gathering regulatory information to disseminate to ships worldwide

Job Requirements

What we are looking for when recruiting Interns?

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor or Graduate Environmental Management/Engineering & Sciences related degree program
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis
  • Must be able to be employed from May 26th to August 7th on a full-time basis
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Emulates pride, passion and commitment for their job and conveys excitement and enthusiasm for RCL.
  • Excited to collaborate and eager to learn from others
  • Proven leadership ability, either in a student organization, project, and/or outside the classroom
  • Demonstrates a passion for service and commitment to continuous improvement
